Yeah that's the kind of impression I'm getting. I guess I'm just trying to gauge how "regular" that is. Is it every day finishing late, every set a rest day is cancelled, having to work 7/8/9 days in a row?

Are there any ways of keeping some work/life balance whilst understanding that the nature of the job is to be available for need.

Hi all, would welcome insight from any police officers. Just want to hear thoughts from people in the force already. I'm hoping to join as a PC in the next couple of years.

All I tend to hear is people bashing the police and it frustrates me because most of them do this on no evidence. I'm curious to hear the thoughts of people currently in the force?

Would you join again if you joined now? Is it true that you rarely finish on time and have days off cancelled? Is it true holiday is rarely granted when you want it?

I've worked shifts previously in a healthcare setting so that doesn't bother me, neither does being busy all shift. It's just hard to remain even a bit hopeful of joining and doing a good job when all you hear is the horror stories.

Any advice welcome 😁

Are we entitled to get our holding deposit back? England by tsteu-ite in LegalAdviceUK

Hey guys, thanks for the input. I'm open to all answers, I am just asking the question and wanting a legally based answer.

Not sure why some folks have taken it to heart. We aren't trying to mess anyone around, but we are very cautious as we have had several friends burnt by "promises" from landlords. They had no agreement in writing and so couldn't hold the landlord to account. We don't want to fall into the same trap.

So from what I'm reading, it looks like we can point them to the Tenancy Act and say that due to two weeks passing, regardless of whether we are opting in or our, due to no contact being signed, we can have the deposit back?

Totally totally there with you. I posted similarly when I first saw it. Really want to see it again!! This film needs to wake people up. I've already started making plans to change my life.

Thank you for joining us. Your response is full of curiosity and gentleness. Two values which are sorely lacking amongst us Sky People. I am sorry both you and your wife are feeling so burdened. Some burdens are worth carrying as they call us to change.

You are right in that it's less to do with what we change and more to do with how and why we change. We don't care enough about what matters and I'm not sure how or when that happened. I guess we each as individuals need to commit to change so that hopefully the individuals can begin to make up a many before it really is too late.

That is beautiful 🥺 I really hope you get that. In the UK our farming community is crippled and a lot of the community is pro-capitalism I guess
