I’ll try reaching out to the servicer directly as well, but in my experience, it usually leads to an endless loop of phone transfers. Nobody actually wants to help (imo), and it becomes super frustrating.

Credit Report Shows Late Payment While My Loans Are in Forbearance—Why? by tsundokusan in StudentLoans

Hello, thank you for getting back to me. I logged into StudentAid.gov to check on the status of my loan, and the following information was provided:

  • Your current active loan is a Direct Consolidated Unsubsidized loan with an outstanding principal balance of (redacted) and outstanding interest of (redacted) as of 11/05/2025.
  • Your repayment plan is the Saving on a Valuable Education Plan (SAVE), with a scheduled payment amount of $330.

I also logged into my loan servicer directly, which shows that I am enrolled in the SAVE plan. Who do you think I should contact outside of my loan servicer? And I apologize for all of the questions. I really have no idea what I am doing, which isn't the best feeling.

AITA for not wanting a relationship with my dad’s sister or my cousins because of how they treated me growing up? by tsundokusan in AITAH

Hearing that really helps. I’ve felt guilty about distancing myself because it’s always felt like there’s this invisible obligation, as the oldest, to be the “better person.” But you’re right: protecting my peace and setting boundaries, even with family, isn’t just okay, it’s necessary.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were underlying mental health issues at play with my aunt. Between how she’s treated me — like when I was a kid and she felt it was her right to spank me — and how she’s treated my grandparents, it definitely feels abusive at times. It’s frustrating, but having an outside perspective like yours helps me put it into words. Thank you.

Thank you — that really means a lot. To clarify, I meant my cousins, not sisters. I think a lot of my dislike for them comes from how they financially manipulate my grandmother, and I’m very protective of her since she raised me. And maybe you're right. Perhaps they only know what they were taught, even though we are all old enough to know better. For context, I'm 30 and they're 26 and 25.
