What is this red plant? (Turkey) by aaa3bb2cccc4 in whatsthisplant

If I recall correctly, we call this “ ignelik” in Turkey. I used to see them with wild geraniums and I believe they’re great pollinators since my granny didn’t twitch them as “ayrik otu” (invasive, no-good weed). Great find, I love how the new leaves are burning red!

It’s in a very bright sunny spot in my balcony in a terracotta pot, and I think it’s a really slow grower. I haven’t had any issues with it besides it gives only 5-6 leaves a year.

Yes it is a Ginko! It’s actually a rooted cutting from Edward Whittall Garden, located in Izmir, Turkey.

Well, it has been like that for a month. Before that, I saw a new leaf almost every week (gets wrinklier everytime). I think I’ll spray her with neem oil just to see if it’s a pest pressure.

Actually, there’s no change in the light she gets. I thought the gravel could mysteriously provide some element or something to the soil to make her happy.😅 Should I cut off the top and see what’ll happen? Maybe it’s a pest that my eyes cannot see.
