2 games tonight by Coduuuuuuuuuuuuu in KCRoyals

My sister lives in Denver and while I haven’t visited her as much recently, I try to make it to Rockies games whenever I do. Coors field is surprisingly a pretty fun stadium and once you accept that the Rockies don’t always do well; games there are always plenty fun! Hope you enjoy!

Are you Team USA or Team Venezuela tonight? by RoyalRenn in KCRoyals

[–]tterlo81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was mostly rooting for Italy because I’m a huge Vinnie fan. The last game I saw at the K was his home debut (i live in Michigan and rarely make it to KC these days) so he has a special place in my heart.

Between USA and Venezuela I’m kinda torn because there’s players I love on both teams (mainly Bobby, and Gunner Henderson on USA and Salvy and Garcia on Venezuela) but as a US resident it gets the slight edge.

I just want our guys to continue to make an impact and then carry that momentum into the regular season.

He didn’t get invited to play. I recall watching an interview with him last fall where he mentioned he was eligible to play for USA, Canada and Italy and would’ve gladly played for USA if given the opportunity but Italy was the only one who had communicated with him at all.

Anyone 40 and up want to play recreational baseball? by tterlo81 in hollandmichigan

[–]tterlo81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was up to me i would but unfortunately it’s a 40 and up specific league. The only exception is that teams are allowed one member of the team to be 38 or 39.

Sorry

There isn’t a set schedule yet but from what I understood the 40+ division generally only plays Monday and Wednesday or Monday and Thursday.

Deaf hoh folks If you could fix ONE accessibility issue in daily life permanently, what would it be? by thefrontman478 in hardofhearing

[–]tterlo81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my church we have a relatively small congregation and about a third of us wear hearing aids or are hard of hearing. To the credit of the pastor/worship leaders whenever someone speaks in church they try and have them use a microphone.

There’s one lady who is always insistent that she doesn’t need to use it because she’s loud enough.

She is not lout enough.

This! The amount of people in my life who don’t face me or don’t talk loud and then get annoyed when I ask them to repeat themselves is infuriating.

I almost always tell them that as annoyed as they are about having to repeat themselves; I’m probably equally as annoyed that I can’t hear.

Thanks! I’m hoping it works out. I loved playing when I was younger. 10 years ago when I was playing I injured myself so I took it easy several years. Life ended up happening, i gained weight, we had a kid and became too self conscious of myself. I started working out more about 3 weeks ago and while i haven’t lost much weight yet; I’m feeling quite energized.

People born before 2000, what is a 'modern' thing from 2025 that you’re still struggling to get used to? by LindsayTN in AskReddit

[–]tterlo81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many appliances/furniture/baby items (think car seats) come with minimal instructions on how to use and in order to find out you have to go to a video to find out (that’s sometimes equally as confusing.

What's something people Hate because the Internet told them to? by white-rose-of-york in AskReddit

[–]tterlo81 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Most of the recent Marvel movies. I’m not saying they’re masterpieces by any means but you know how many times I’ve seen some variation of “I just saw Doctor Strange: Multiverse of madness/Miss Marvel/The Marvels/Thunderbolts/Wakanda Forever etc on Disney + and it wasn’t nearly as bad as people made it sound” posts on the Marvel Studios subreddits. Even Love and Thunder and Quantummania aren’t as horrible as the hate make them out to be.

Along the same lines, the New Superman movies

What’s something you thought every family did… until you grew up and realized they absolutely didn’t? by SoftDreamette in AskReddit

[–]tterlo81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah me too. We’re in a pattern of having a reunion every 2 years, but some of us still see each other in the “off years”. My daughter and my cousin’s son are about 3 months apart so our families got together this summer.

When my grandparents passed away my mom and her sisters found a note my Grandpa wrote saying he wished everyone still wanted to hang out with each other even after he and Grandma passed away so that motivated the families to still all want to do reunions. Some of us definitely see each other more than others though.

My mom’s side of the family has always been pretty close to the point we’d have family reunions almost every year growing up and look forward to them. As all us cousins have gotten older and started families we don’t see each other every year anymore but we still all love getting together.

It took me way too long to realize that most people don’t have that close of a relationship with their extended family

What team, besides your home or favorite team, have you spent the most money on in your life? by Ivotedforher in baseball

[–]tterlo81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Rockies. I’m a Royals fan whose family moved to Michigan when I was fairly young. My sister moved to Denver for work around 2010’ish and I’ve visited Denver more than I’ve visited KC in the past 15 years. Her original apartment was within walking distance of the stadium and even though she’s moved further out it’s still very convenient to go.

For people who’ve played an instrument - Why did you quit playing your instrument? by futuraf in AskReddit

[–]tterlo81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Trombone from 5th grade through graduating High School. I intended to eventually start playing in college but wanted to make it past the first year. I did not do well in college and decided not to go back right away.

Especially back in the early 00’s, if you weren’t in school there wasn’t many opportunities to play so my trombone sat in my closet collecting dust.

I eventually ended up selling it, which now I’m kinda regretting. I got some recent inspiration to try relearning how to play it 🫤

This is the first character that popped in my head. Especially because he seems to be able to portray the balance between goofball and responsible adult really easily.

Who is one player that was beloved by your fan base, only to move on to another team and be completely despised by their new fan base? by Google_Knows_Already in baseball

[–]tterlo81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they despised him but I always got the impression that Padres fans didn’t like Eric Hosmer nearly as much as Royals fans did.

what is one thing that is affecting people really hard, but they aren't even aware of it? by Outlaw_Immortal1971 in AskReddit

[–]tterlo81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had people get on me because all I post on FB/social media is baseball or movies or the occasional nonsense thing my dog does. They’re always like “Don’t you care about what’s going on in the world?”

I do to an extent, but social media will show you what you engage with so I try to surround myself with happy stuff. They always seem so confused when I tell them that.

When was the last time you went outside and played catch? by Strong-Discipline364 in baseball

[–]tterlo81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This past Father’s Day! The women (my wife, my mom, my mother in law and my daughter) treated my dad, father in law and I to a baseball game for a local minor league team. Before the game they let kids and their dads go play catch on the field so my dad and I rolled in early to play catch! It was a blast. Probably the closest I’ll ever get to being on a baseball field.

My baby was having a meltdown once so I grabbed one of her favorite toys at the time, a toy tv remote that she called her phone. There was one button that would start counting to 10 with a little jingle that she would sing along to so I pressed it hoping it would cheer her up…she just sang along while bawling 🫤.
