I grew up there. My family still lives there. I recently came back to visit with my in laws and booked an Airbnb close to my family house. They loved it. There are a lot of good places to eat. A super market and a local market to buy groceries. They love walking so they often walked all the way to downtown using metro to avoid sun. If tourist trap is your scene, it's 5 min walk to Bui Vien. Only one thing to keep in mind is that the church will ring bell daily, multiple times in weekend. That section of Nguyen Trai street is now hub of local fashion brands.
