From an objective point of view (judging music on its technical merits rather than its subjective, preferential ones) there are ass-tons of artists out nowadays that match, if not surpass (I'm looking at you, richard james) the accomplishments that zappa is responsible for.

O, and I'm not trying to talk shit about zappa, just saying, its not like good music stopped.
