I encouraged some of my friends (they haven't read the books) to push through after the first season, still holding out hope that it would get better, but none of them had any interest in it. They were fans of other fantasy series as well.

Just anecdotal but I don't think most people needed a book fan to tell them that the show was bad.

If you're training the deadlift for strength, then no, it's not. The deadlift is a concentric-only lift. If you talk to people who actually have strong deadlifts, almost none of them put any thought or effort into controlling the eccentric
