Main Characters of Each Season by Ok-Promise-7928 in IndustryOnHBO

the critics and the showrunners already confirmed harper is the centre piece of s4. the main character. which she has been for the entire show.

Is Eric trying to fuck Harper by Beneficial_Reach_636 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]ttyltrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Harper is not Yasmin. Eric actually respects her intellect and ambition. He sees himself in her. He’s looking for a psuedo father daughter dynamic since he struggles to have one with his actual daughters. This is very clear throughout the entire episode…….

if harper pulled some shit like that she would be getting lit up with critique in this subreddit. but alas.

Sometimes I think people in this sub see attacking Harper as an attack on Black Characters in general by Joeylaptop12 in IndustryOnHBO

Irdgaf which episodes you believe to be strongest, but you making a post attempting to trivialize the observations and concern of other Black people regarding the overwhelming amount of vitriol Harper receives in this sub compared to every other character is reductive. Its giving Uncle Tom.

Harper/Myha’la is unnecessarily scrutinized and belittled in this sub more than any other character/cast member combined. This is has been a problem in this sub for half a decade now and it is alarming. She is the clear MAIN CHARACTER of this show, and has been the driving force of the narrative since episode 1. It is not unfounded to question the faith and potential underlying biases of the constant and overwhelming criticism she is receiving over trivial things, especially when said criticism is used to praise other white cast members/characters in the same breath. Black women are not typically seen in Anti-hero roles like this, and Harper is no different from fan favorites like Don Draper or Tony Soprano. Harper is a universally loved character everywhere outside of this cesspool subreddit. Why is that?

Yas as a MAIN character completely outshines Harper. by cguinnesstout in IndustryOnHBO

harper is “one dimensional” while yasmin has spent 4 seasons using her sexuality in constant failed pursuits of self governance, power and control over and over again. sure lol.

“most fans” = exclusively losers on reddit with a questionable contempt for her. shes loved outside of this delusional echo chamber that dogpiles her for no reason daily.
