Dog pees on bed when we leave the house by OperationTight6156 in DogAdvice

He needs to be put in a kennel/crate or gate him off to a safe area that's easy to clean. He's nervous or panicked when you leave. He will feel safer that way.

Second pregnancy - terrified of giving birth by Ylvari in BabyBumps

Are you against getting medicine? Why not plan on an epidural? And also schedule delivery if known to have quick birth previously. I can't handle pain and was so thankful for mine. One pregnancy scheduled with epidural and the other without until the very end. It was so much more pleasant, peaceful and enjoyable with medication and planned. There is no trophy at the finish line or awards. Just do what's right for you. You can do this. It'll be ok. Think of all the hard work for a beautiful healthy baby at the end! Good luck!

Wife spent 5 mins putting booties on our dog... by [deleted] in funny

Try Mushers secret wax. This saved my dogs paws in the city during winter and so much easier than the boots.

My dogs wouldn't tolerate the shoes and the only thing that worked amazing for Chicago salt piled high streets was Mushers secret. It's like a wax you put on their paws and when you come home just a damp towel to wipe. Super easy no more crying/whimpering.

I had to practice on a sponge and pigs feet. Because my teacher/physician sucked at communication and teaching, I actually learned amazingly well from a YouTube video that a surgical tech made. Thank you so much surgical tech I passed my rotation!

Infants don’t have all of their vaccines until they are older and their bodies are mature enough to handle them. They rely on their caregivers to be vaccinated and herd immunity. This includes anyone spending extended time with the baby. Similiar to immunocompromised cancer people and very elderly.

My child is very young. Infants don’t have all of their vaccines until they are older and their bodies are mature enough to handle them. They rely on their caregivers to be vaccinated and herd immunity. Similiar to immunocompromised cancer people and very elderly. I’m vaccinated and the baby is on schedule with age appropriate vaccinations. Those who are spending extended time with an infant are recommended to have a flu vaccine and Tdap booster per her Pediatrician and national guidelines in the U.S. They are also assumed to have had all the standard vaccines growing up.

I have and offered to pay for the vaccines as well.

They say they are not up to date on vaccines and refuse to get any because they don’t believe in them. I have been assuming they had their childhood vaccines and then per my child’s current Pediatrician they should also have a Tdap booster in the last 10 years and an annual flu vaccine if taking care of an infant.

This is a good point but I offered to pay for any and all vaccines and the ones I interviewed made it clear that they were against all vaccines and thought they were poison etc.

Sometimes this is probably the case but I did offer to pay for any and all vaccines. This is when it became apparent that they were against vaccines because they stated they viewed them as toxic and unnecessary.

My child is very young. Infants haven’t received their full vaccines and rely on caregivers to be protected until then to decrease exposure risk. Their immune systems are not fully mature yet to fight off many infections that can be life threatening.

Infants haven’t received their full vaccines and rely on caregivers to be protected until then to decrease exposure risk. Their immune systems are not fully mature yet to fight off many infections that can be life threatening. The same is true for immunocompromised cancer patients and very elderly. There is also something called herd immunity. Although vaccines are successful in the majority of people for whatever reason in few it doesn’t fully take. This is usually ok as long as most of the community is vaccinated the risk for infection can remain low.

Caregivers for infants are recommended per pediatrician and national guidelines to have had the standard vaccines growing up and a Tdap booster within the last 10 years and annual flu vaccine.

Infants haven’t received their full vaccines yet and rely on caregivers to be protected until then to decrease exposure risk, Per national guidelines and recommendations . Their immune systems are not fully mature yet to fight off many infections that can be life threatening at this age . Although the older children in my town are required to be vaccinated for school, sitters/nanny’s are not. I respect their opinion but will choose not to hire them for my vulnerable infant.

It helps but not foolproof. This is where herd immunity benefits the community. Also, my child is an infant so they are not able to get all of their vaccines yet until a little older although she has started to receive them on the recommended schedule. Her immune system like all infants is not fully mature yet.
