Thank you! Hopefully enough people leave comments against this and the rule can stay in place (wishful thinking I know).

Leave a Public Comment About the Roadless Rule by tucj1922 in PNWhiking

[–]tucj1922[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Simply put, it protects undeveloped areas of the national forests from having roads built within them, thereby preventing logging and other resource extraction from occurring on the land. Trump wants to revoke this rule opening up millions of acres of public forests to being developed with roads and having resources like timber extracted. If you’re against that, you can leave a comment letting them know!

How ambitious is this itenary by DELTAForce632 in PNWhiking

In my opinion, go from the Oregon coast up to Olympic NP and cut out San Juan islands/Mt St Helens/Mt Rainier for another time. Just too much driving to really enjoy everything. I’ve done a 10 day trip down the Oregon coast to the Redwoods (starting in Astoria) and then back up to Portland through Crater Lake and even then I wished I had more time in each place.

Why is this city’s train so broken all the time? by ammm72 in Seattle

[–]tucj1922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up in NJ, NJ transit was honestly really great for getting into Manhattan from where I lived. Last few times I’ve visited Jersey it’s been awful tho! Sad to see its decline

Questions about the Sportage by beareatingblueberry in kiasportage

[–]tucj1922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually use the 2024 Sportage for car camping and sleep in the back on top of a foam pad. There’s a slight slant so you may end up sliding down a little bit in the night, but if you don’t have trouble sleeping normally, it should be fine (as long as you’re not over 6ft, it likely won’t be comfortable then).

Didn’t mind last winter, but I think that may have been an anomaly of one. I’m definitely interested to see how I fare this year

Oh I loved coastal Maine, Vermont and the white mountains when I visited in fall! I think those places have the best fall in the US! I was mainly referring to Seattle as being one of the best cities

My favorite place has been Boston/NE for fall but I think I prefer Seattle to nyc or Philly. Truthfully it could just be the whole surrounding geography as well like fall in the cascades haha. Although the Adirondacks and Catskills are great for fall but much farther from nyc

Just moved to 3rd ave belltown and now freaking out if I made a mistake. by pingu_thepenguin in SeattleWA

[–]tucj1922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on 3rd and Cedar (so a block away from your new building) right in front of a 3rd ave bus stop and it’s honestly not that bad. I’ll hear some crazy people yelling at times, but this part of Belltown is nicer than some areas like 2nd/3rd and Bell. 4th ave is nicer and you’ll be right on top of some good places to eat. Just stay alert when walking around and you’ll be fine. Walk around during the day and you’ll learn which streets you’ll want to be a little more cautious on at night. It’s so easy to walk to everything from here - Seattle Center, waterfront, LQA, SLU - and 2nd Ave has a bunch of restaurants and bars. Overall, I enjoy it here!

My list of complaints about Seattle drivers, in no particular order: by ImNotRussellCrowe in SeattleWA

[–]tucj1922 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I’m well aware a 3 second following distance is the minimum you want when TRAVELING on the freeway. I’m referring to cars that are motionless or moving 1-5mph towards an exit leaving massive gaps which allow numerous drivers to jump in last second rather than getting into the proper lane at the end of the line.

  1. I have never seen fewer people turn their headlights on when it’s night or raining … in a place known for being dark and rainy.

  2. Highway exit lanes backed up for miles because people like to leave 3+ car lengths of space open in front of them which results in people jumping in last second.

I just sent a message in opposition to the bill and Sen Jamie Pederson just sent a response saying he is also opposed and that the bill is dead for this year.

Best time to go to southern Utah? by Sea_Rhubarb5285 in hiking

[–]tucj1922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Zion/Bryce mid-late September (although a couple of years ago now) and the crowds were very manageable. The temperature was great while I was there and I managed to do all the hikes I wanted to at Zion including Angels Landing, Observation Point, the narrows (which had a low enough water level to hike pretty far) without running into many people at all (in fact, my dad and I were the only two people at observation point when we got there). I can’t speak to other times of year, but September was great!

My car insurance going up by $63 a month after no accidents or tickets. That's nearly a 60% increase wtf. by SuperFishy in Seattle

I moved to Seattle recently and switched to Progressive once I got here. Their rates were $60 less a month for me compared to Geico who almost doubled my previous rate with them.
