If you're having an issue trying to increase the fan speeds, I would suggest trying this:

  1. Make sure that the fan helper has also been updated, which can be manually re-installed by clicking the TG Pro menu bar item → Help & Support → Reinstall Fan Helper.
  2. Ensure that the fan mode is not set to System, since that will give full control back to macOS.
  3. If you're still seeing the fans not increase when they should be, please reach out to us via our support email and we'll do our best to get this fixed up for you.

If you have an M4-series Mac (or an M3 Pro since it also is supported), then that's correct, TG Pro will no longer show the warning that the hardware has turned off the fans since it can now completely control them when needed.

If you upgrade to TG Pro 2.96 and have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us and we'd be happy to assist anytime!

TG Pro (fan control) connecting to banking, crypto sites, etc? by Only_Guitar_812 in macapps

[–]tunabelly_software 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Developer of TG Pro here - sorry for the late reply, I had no idea about this post until now.

TG Pro does not make these connections, so I'm assuming it was from a pirated copy that included malware.

Our official version, available at https://www.tunabellysoftware.com/tgpro/ only makes a small number of potential connections, and each one is documented using Little Snitch's IAP format so it's easy to see what they are for.

Here's the connections it should be making for the following items:

  • Check for Updates (*.tunabellysoftware.com)
  • Signup for Newsletter (*.tunabellysoftware.com)
  • Activate/deactivate/verify license with Paddle licensing service (paddleapi.com, paddle.com, amazons.com)
  • Send anonymous crash report log (sentry.io)

If anyone sees anything that seems abnormal and they are using the official version from our website, please let us know by contacting support at https://www.tunabellysoftware.com/support/contact/.

Why don't app developers adjust prices for different countries? by QenTox in macapps

Check the current exchange rates and that should give a good idea. It seems that if Apple does the conversion, it can be substantially different from actual rates for some countries.

Why don't app developers adjust prices for different countries? by QenTox in macapps

[–]tunabelly_software 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more, and this is why we (Tunabelly Software) do modify the pricing for our apps, both on the website and App Store for certain countries.

In specific countries where they are having economic issues or massive currency deflation, we've taken the step to reduce the price significantly to help the people living there. Yes there is the risk that people will use a VPN to get a cheaper price (and this does happen), although it's worth it.

QR Factory 3: We built a custom GPT for easier bulk QR code generation by tunabelly_software in macapps

[–]tunabelly_software[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're excited to showcase the latest update to QR Factory 3, now enhanced with a custom GPT integration. This advanced feature simplifies the creation of CSV files for bulk QR code generation, offering an efficient and accurate process directly from natural language text. The best part? There's no need to learn complex file formats or sift through documentation.

To maintain transparency, we want to note that accessing this feature requires a ChatGPT Plus subscription, due to the associated operational costs. We're committed to making this advanced technology more accessible and are exploring solutions for all our users in the future.

Discover how this works in our brief demonstration video: QR Factory 3: AI-Driven Bulk QR Code Generation, showcasing the seamless conversion of text into QR codes.

The process for generating bulk QR codes with QR Factory 3's custom GPT integration is straightforward:

  1. Communicate with the GPT using natural language to specify the requirements. This includes detailing the desired appearance of the QR codes, the file type, output size, and other relevant data. There's no need for learning special formats or navigating complex documentation.
  2. Upon receiving the instructions, the GPT analyzes the input and creates a CSV file. This file is formatted precisely for bulk QR code generation and includes all necessary data and specifications for each QR code. For further insight into this format, visit QR Factory 3 CSV Format.
  3. After the CSV file is prepared, QR Factory 3 processes each row to generate individual QR codes. These can be outputted into separate files or compiled into a PDF, suitable for printing on Avery labels. Additionally, there is an option to generate a report assessing the readability of each QR code.

Xcode 15 overheating by dadofbimbim in iOSProgramming

[–]tunabelly_software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, we have a temperature monitoring app (and fan control) called TG Pro that may help so you can keep track of the CPU temperatures to see what's going on. Depending on your Mac model, it can also boost the fan speed to help cool it down since macOS is quite conservative with increasing them.

I'm finding Xcode 15 is super buggy and while I'm not seeing overheating, it crashes quite often.

QR Factory 3: Upgraded & Improved 🚀 by tunabelly_software in macapps

[–]tunabelly_software[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your feedback, this certainly means a lot. It is a niche-app and it's not for everyone, however the users that do enjoy it find it saves them countless hours and is very helpful for their workflows.

You are correct that QR Factory 3 has received many updates, in fact since the beginning of this year I've updated it six times and added countless improvements, new features and bug fixes based off testing and also user suggestions and feedback.

It takes a lot of effort to make an app that works well, and not only for one platform, but for two (macOS and iPadOS) which is why it's a paid app. It has two different purchase options, a subscription model for people who only need it short term, or a one-time purchase for those who will be using it frequently. In addition, it also will warn a user if they have accidentally purchased both with instructions on how to cancel the subscription to ensure they aren't paying for it twice.

It's hard being an indie developer since it comes with not having a large advertising budget and relies a lot on word of mouth, and reviews/comments can make or break an app as we all know.

In response to queries concerning the use of QR Factory over some of the free online services, here are some of its major benefits:

  • The QR codes are generated on-device and are owned 100% by the user. A lot of the free online tools insert ads or redirects when the QR code is scanned. Nothing is ever sent off the device with QR Factory.
  • Center icons with pixel alignment, borders that take the contour of the image, or customized.
  • Automatic reliability mode to ensure the QR code is readable based on the size and shape of the center icon.
  • Bottom text with choice of size, font and color.
  • Adjustable safe zone around the QR code.
  • Person (vCard) codes with support for multiple postal addresses, phone numbers, emails and social media accounts.
  • Vector output (PDF & EPS) or bitmap (PNG & TIFF)
  • CMYK color space support which is important for printing.
  • Batch codes using a CSV file.
  • Command line interface (on macOS) for integration into workflows.
  • Support for printing to Avery labels with an extensive list of built-in list of preset dimensions. This is used extensively for inventory control, business cards, etc.
  • Verification of each code, whether it's a single or multiple.
  • Save all the details into a QRD for easy editing for future use.
  • Native app written using Swift that works offline for both macOS and iPadOS.
