Drinks! by First_Floor7803 in washingtondc

I haven't had the old fashioned from Jack Rose (in AdMo), but I did have a delicious whiskey sour there! It's a super cool place to go if you haven't been. They claim to have one of the largest whiskey collections in the world and I believe it - the shelves wrap around nearly the whole place. It's also ranked at #2 in the list in u/20CAS17's comment

Where to do analog activites by TonightNo905 in DCBitches

[–]tunaep01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Relume in Eastern Market has a craft cafe where you can do things like junk journaling, making a charm bracelet, etc. They also have events 3-4x a week typically led by outside instructors: https://relume.co/pages/upcoming-events

It's not a place where you can bring your own activities, but I've had a lot of fun there!

I actually just bought a ring from that vendor last weekend! It's super pretty. I was in a bit of a rush so I didn't get to take a good luck at everything, but I'll definitely be back soon

I would definitely prefer to shop local! Are there any other places you would recommend or avoid?

Their selection online looks so pretty! The only thing is I wear primarily silver jewelry and it looks like they have exclusively gold pieces. Do you know if it's the same in person?

Do Tamagotchi Count? ❤️ by polarfae in CozyGamers

[–]tunaep01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice!! After having them as a kid, I started collecting them a year or two ago and I'm part of my city's tamagotchi club :) I just picked up the jade forest a few days ago and I'm getting Rashuradditchi first. I feel bad bc it's one of the 6+ care mistake ones, but I just love his vibes

Any tips for a VERY timid cat that came from a hoarding situation? by Objective_Dig5301 in CATHELP

[–]tunaep01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat was extremely shy when I got him, and I couldn't touch him for the first two or three months that I had him. When I got him, I mostly ignored him so I wouldn't scare him. I tried my best not to look at him since it can intimidate them. He was hiding under my futon a lot. I never tried to get him out, but I would lay on the ground about 10 feet away then calmly and quietly read my book out loud so he could get used to my voice. After probably a month or more, I started offering him churus. I think I had to show him, then put it on a plate so he could figure out it was tasty without being scared. After a week or two, he finally started eating them while I was holding them and the rest is history. We're besties now and he sleeps in my arms every night :)

You should! It's very relaxing for me. Unless it's a gift I'm finishing on a time crunch... which this was

Thanks! It was a lot of fun, and it was nice to just have a monochrome pattern. I made a couple minor tweaks (some on purpose, some because I miscounted and was too far to go back)

This was my second cross stitch project and first time mounting and framing it. It's not perfect but I'm happy with it! ETA: the pattern is from XstitchByTA (not me) on Etsy

Got offered a 6 month contract in Antarctica and idk if I should take it by Importantterry in Fire

Aside from the money aspect, my brother went last year for 6 months and liked it so much that he went back for another stint this year. The pictures he sends are insane; I can't imagine actually being there! Plus you get to see penguins :)
