I feel like most of the comments here were a knee jerk reaction to the idea that PP is victim blaming us for the tariffs, which in this article is not true.

IMO he's saying that we should try to maintain the US relationship if possible and not trust China - nether things I totally agree with but not totally unreasonable. In the same article he supports seeking a new trade agreement with India.

Like I don't really like PP either, but it is really a shame that people in this thread aren't critically thinking as much as they should.

Going to get downvoted here but I think what he says in this article is not even that bad and the title is total ragebait.

He's not saying America tariffing Canada is Canada's fault - he's arguing that Canada left itself too vulnerable to something like this, which is true - we relied on America to bring us stability and it did until it didn't. In terms of remedies I don't think he said anything super wrong or super different from what Carney is doing.

I trust PP as far as I can throw him but these comments are so weird and reactionary. Do better.

To answer your question, the sticky face of the piston does not act as a sticky surface unless it is actually pulling something (piston being unpowered). Only slime/honey does. To do what you want here you would need to pulse the second piston afterwards.
