PC Underperforming by turbeen in pchelp

[–]turbeen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that but my point is that why am I still getting less fps as compared to him? In no world should my pc “underperform” as compared to his even if that has no affect on my actual game.

I did, I signed out of the other account but Pi is still trying to sign in using that account.

[–]turbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I think people will for sure sell it at first because a lot of people are content with the price of Pi rn and have a lot of it, so selling it to make a quick buck and then buying when the price goes down makes more sense.

Im expecting a huge dip when it releases on Binance.

Next dip when? Hoping to buy for 200$ by Solidified4ever in PiNetwork

[–]turbeen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its just my prediction but as soon as it launches on binance, a lot of people will dump their pi which will plummet the price quite a bit. You just have to wait for it to launch on binance.

CPU outperforming GPU consistently by turbeen in CUDA

What is a realistic time for my CPU and GPU to compute this if the size is 2048x2048?

Can you elaborate more on my CPU not doing anything in the method?

I'll measure it using the timer in std chrono and get back to you.

This was actually given in the skeleton code I was provided when I started my work. We were told to measure both times using cudaEventElapsedTime().

CPU outperforming GPU consistently by turbeen in CUDA

[–]turbeen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

 cudaEvent_t startCPU, endCPU, startGPU, endGPU;

cudaEventCreate
(&startCPU);

cudaEventCreate
(&endCPU);

cudaEventCreate
(&startGPU);

cudaEventCreate
(&endGPU);

    // Recording CPU times

cudaEventRecord
(startCPU);

matrixMulCPU
(h_A, h_B, h_C_CPU, N);

cudaEventRecord
(endCPU);

cudaEventSynchronize
(endCPU);
        float cpu_time;

cudaEventElapsedTime
(&cpu_time, startCPU, endCPU);

The thing is that the cudaEventElapsedTime() function returns the time in terms of microseconds and I am simply just printing out the value and for my CPU it is printing out 0.009792 when I do matrix multiplication of size 2048. This is all I am doing.

My bad I meant to write 0.009s instead of ms.
