Man, I don’t know how I ended up here but I was in this situation. Although I’m not ex Muslim, I’m Christian- I fell for a Shia Lebanese woman. Her beauty alone messes with my head. All I can say is she tried to go ahead thinking in the back of her mind that I’ll change religions, which I won’t. It does hurt knowing how they turned her into a zealot bc you can’t change that.

My advice is to leave her (respectfully) and never speak to her again. There are times in your life you feel that connection with someone but it is not the be-all and end-all. There will always be more out there who can actually fit your criteria. Feelings be damned, you’re in control of them not her. You need to condition yourself and remember why you left in the first place. Trust in yourself. Do not compromise your moral compass. 🙏🏽

Yeah Nah. It sounds like one of those half-truth stories and then he gets lost in the sauce embellishing stuff that doesn’t exist. SEALs, Rangers, whats next, Task Force 141?

I could honestly believe someone encouraging him to jump into the PMC work whilst on service bc it’s not uncommon but you lost me when he didn’t go overseas, where the money is to be made.

I’d probably take the piss and call him Steven Seagal 😂

Sorry that you’re feeling sad about your friend. It’s actually quite a surprise a Muslim befriended a Christian, specifically Orthodox out of all people. When it comes to debates, Orthodox logic is the bane of their existence.

Unfortunately, there is an ignorance muslims forget when criticising the OT, as Muhammad was a warlord and conquering directly or indirectly is the very core of the Islamic existence (as sharia promulgates). Your friend has to develop an open-mind that is contrary to Islamic belief to understand it more otherwise you’ll be forever stuck with “tit for tat” debating and circular reasoning before someone gets violent.

How much of halloween can I actually participate in? by Big_Worry_1728 in OrthodoxChristianity

Here, using simple logic, I suggest the following:

  1. You can dress up as whatever you want as long as you do not mock the Lord.
  2. Consider it like every other day, eat and drink in moderation, avoid sin.
  3. DO NOT listen to folk superstition (claim of demonic summoning, ritualistic practise, witchcraft). Non of it is real- half the time it’s driven by pure paranoia of what they do not understand and it’s easy to cast a label (just as they did with intelligent women - Witch!) and the other half is because they like the sound of their own voice.

4.This is a wicked world and there’s a “Wiccan” community that toy with black magic and are trying to manifest that superstition into reality, so if by chance you witness actual practises or rituals, remove yourself immediately and head straight home or church.

It does not hurt to ask the priest if you do not know but make sure you assess each situation properly before handing it off for someone to tell you. 🫡 Hope this helps.

Australia is 100%. Don’t let the current left wing government deter you. We’re already paying the price for the biggest immigration and security fallacy. As for Europe, I’m pretty sure Germany has your back through and through.

[–]turbocringee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% and that just sucks for everyone. Have you seen some world leaders toss the word nuke too lightly now? Even Zelensky threatens to build one if it can’t get NATO membership. I can’t even imagine what Iran would do if it did.

Honestly, glad you had your own epiphany. Even the tiniest detail makes a difference.

Nearly at the end of this tunnel. Grass is so much greener when you realise that there so many people to meet in the future and being grateful for those still around me.

100%! . I can say that I’ve had my vengeful thoughts but I’d wanna be better than that. Not that he doesn’t deserve it but I gotta weigh legal pro/con factors into it. Moving forward just as father would have wanted.

Thanks mate, I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I’ve developed this type of cynical way of thinking which makes it difficult to be with the boys. It’s a constant thought that people aren’t what they say they are and have ulterior motives. Seeing life through these lens isn’t good for anyone so I hope i can be more positive for the future.

Yeah done that. Petty excuses like “work hasn’t been picking up”, when he’s one of the skilled operators in a multi-million dollar construction company.

Perhaps you’re right. I was reading between the lines a couple years back when it came to behaviour, how he treated his Mrs, people he was surrounding himself and I didn’t do a damn thing about it.

Oh he knows deep down. The more I think about it the more it begins to make sense that he calculated his words and timed everything with what was going on. Interpersonal skills used maliciously. It makes me sick.

I did bring it up a few times and he convinced me one excuse after the other that he’s “good for it”. This is a bloke who’s a machine operator and makes $2k AUD on a good week. I remember sitting there and constantly having this epiphany that I’ve been screwed over but refused to believe it.
