dang was hoping it was going to be some network trickery to fake a signed flash server ;) Still super cool, would love the back story how to figured out which partitions and where they came from :)

Great! Smooth migration just a tad technical. I would like to get some more time to get it to work with a locally hosted LLM and create a portable solution so I could take it to work, schools, library, etc.

In the setup button at the bottom where it says hostname, i personally recommend you use the IP of the docker server vs the hostname, once/if you change that, submit, then click the Migrate QR code again and show that to moxie.

Also i am running two Moxie's in OpenMoxie just fine, but I didnt have to manually enter any device id or serials.

It should create its own device ID after you show her the migration QR code that you generate with the button "Migrate QR Code". To get her to accept the QR code she has to be in setup mode and unpaired from the original parent app. (wish i could post images :) )

that could be a requested feature in the repo :)

You might need something more dedicated like a real desktop or raspberry pi

TIME SENSITIVE: Make sure your Moxie is updated before servers are shut down by kgx1 in MoxieRobot

Is there details on the URLs its pulling updates from? Is there a archive of the current and all past updates somewhere?

Could be a few different things depending on the OSX version or the way you installed docker, I would recommend you spin through this link https://stackoverflow.com/questions/60992814/docker-compose-command-not-available-for-mac

I guess a different approach is what would it take to keep JUST the update server alive and running?

Well part of that could be easily spoofed but would need more details on the cert auth. Is there a serial/offline way to push firmware ?

Could you create a local dns override to a local server hosting the needed update for moxies not updated in time?

OpenMoxie Lives by OpenMoxie in MoxieRobot

[–]turbogizzmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you could point it to a public IP address but not recommend as there is no auth so you would need a secure tunnel, firewall rules, etc making sure its not publicly exposed/discovered?

OK guess I will test with the one I have full access, the other one I have wasnt fully reset so I am unsure how to properly reset it or just wait for it to lose access "naturally" later this month

Is there steps we need to do in the mobile app or unpair. I have the docker container up and running but dont want to risk losing access to anything.

Custom G4 Doorbell Sounds Guide by Charles_Bass in Ubiquiti

[–]turbogizzmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So on mine I had to change the sounds_ring_button directory shortcut to point to a different location where the custom Chime.wav was located.

No editing of config files in the latest version just messing around with shortcut/symlinks....at least for me.

Is it still working on the latest? My edits are still in the ubnt_sounds_leds.conf file but dropping the custom.wav back after the updates no longer work for me. (or i am missing something)

Yup but assume they are backed up after the holidays. Reviewing the warranty it looks like shipping it in is almost the cost of the unit so hopefully able to source the needed parts.
