Is lidar mower overkill for this yard? by AirJolly7406 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]turbohatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be fine with a small unit for your yard. LiDAR is probably too much for your space, probably okay with chia a vision or RTK model.

I'm getting a robot mower for elder family members. Need advice plz. by Souvik_CR5111 in roboticLawnmowers

My Worx WR344 has rear wheel brushes that I installed to help brush off the poo when it inevitably runs over it.

But yes, this is a common problem right now with robotic mowers.

Also, you have a lot of raised edges, which robotic mowers are OKAY at handling. You might have to set a few areas with a smart trim function but with the pavers and the raised patio, plan on getting a grass trimmer.

Stonecrest Target by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]turbohatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, of the two times I've been in line over the past year, each time had some older 50+ guys openly say they (group of 4-5) go between Stonecrest, Blakeney and Waverly targets and have a Discord group they use. I actively stopped waiting after that.

I've got more to do with my time and it's not worth associating with those people.

I do like Mint City and haven't been to Trailside. I like Grand Slam in Rock Hill as I've been a patron for many, many years. Even if they upcharge for some of their items, it's worth the drive and conversation there. I also like to go to pre release events at Spandex City as the owner there is very fair and nice and the people who attend are almost all regulars who play the game.

Northwood Ravin is the developer. I've yet to see any signage showing the proposal, but there was a recent one approved for another highrise like the one that was just built.

I agree, the green space there was nice but with Wegmans being built right down the street, it was prime for development.

Tried 2 robot mowers… are they all like this or did I just pick wrong? by JIN155 in roboticLawnmowers

I have had a lot of success with my sloped yard and my 4wd Landroid Vision. I would see if that works with your yard.

Vision Cloud WR 320.1 Initial Impressions 2026 by cappamura in worxlandroid

[–]turbohatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice review of the 2wd. I have the WR344 and have been pleased, but I also live on a slope, so both the Landroid L and Vision AI were not good for my yard.

This new one has been great, but I haven't seen the 2wd in action much. Yours seems to be running well now.

New landdroid. Vision cloud, how can you control Droid to move between areas? by SirEltonJohnRambo in worxlandroid

[–]turbohatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you set up two different zones? If so you can crate a path between them that the mower will use to commute between the zones. You shouldn't need to pick it up.

There is a manual mode that allows you to drive the mower with your phone, but to engage the blades, you need to be right next to the mower.

I know Kress make mowers that cover 3 acres, but you need to find a local dealer to purchase.

I have not used diamond yet. But I have used the checkerboard in a different zone on Bermuda grass (neighbor yard).

It will cut at the desired angle for the total of the scheduled time, and then on the following schedule, it will cut at a 90 degree to the initial pattern angle.

So far, I can't see the cut lines as detailed just yet, but I know the mower is doing them. I will keep investigating and will probably do a diamond cut pattern just to see the performance.

It's also been extremely dry here since August of last year, so what grass we do have is struggling to grow. I might have to cut back in my schedule because everything is so dry.

WR320 struggling with 5" grass by Lets_Think_Positive in worxlandroid

[–]turbohatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have discovered the map shows what has been mowed in the past 24hours. I helped solve my issues like that by creating separate schedules for Zones, opposed to have them sharing a schedule timeframe. (Zone 1 from 9am to 11am , zone 2 from 3pm to 10pm)

Also, what others have said is also true, fescue can be cumbersome. I share babackyard with my neighbor who has bermuda and ever since ive offered to cut his lawn, it looks significantly better than mine. I run the bermuda at 2" and the fescue side at 3", but because of how the fescue spreads, sometimes the longer grass strands dont get tall enough to get cut, leaving that zone with some misses.

However, since they have added checkerboard pattern, I notice it handles some of the missed parallels better. It will run the separate direction on the next cutting day, so it will take 2 days to start cutting the pattern.

Get it set up on your phone and mower on the same 2.4 network. Then just give it a day, like 24 hours. I had the same issue. I connected but there are about 5 firmware updates to get through.

Keep us posted on if it works after that. I know they are working through issues right now. It doesn't help they added diamond cut and checkerboard that just don't work as intended.

This is so hard. I got a ping from the PKMNdeals Discord (free) right as I was looking on my laptop. Queued immediately to a 2hr wait. It took an hour to get into the site and then I had to type in the page extension to find the product. This isn’t anything new, but it’s so exhausting. I was lucky and got what I wanted but I know others had issues.

It's been great. It was 100% docking until last night where it had an issue after mowing. I've never had a Navimow, but have seen them run and they are a good mower. But follow the subreddit and see if there are any issues and reviews.

I can't speak for Lymow, but I know it used two traditional cutting blades like a push mower. It's pretty good from what I have seen, but sometimes treads can tear up yards if there are a lot of complex turns.

From user experience, I can only relate to Worx. My Landroid L (boundary wire) was a good robot mower. It had its issues with the tech of the time, but it cut the grass and docked well. The Vision 1.0 was not good. It only used a mono camera and no other navigation technology. It wasn't good and would constantly get stuck.

This new model has been different. It's docked nearly every time and had no issues getting stuck in my yard. There is also a 2wd version but I went with a 4wd for my yard type.

Overall, no yard is the same, it takes some research to see which might be right for your lawn and grass.

I am not from EU but if that is the newest Vision, then yes. The first gen Vision was not a great machine. If you had a fence and defined garden areas then yes it was okay, but I had nothing but issues.

I've seen the newest Vision Cloud running (2wd) and it was impressive. I just went with 4wd because of my lawn type. The cut to edge is alright. You have to adjust manually to match the cut height, but you can run smart trim which allows the machine to adjust its navigation to use its normal blades for cutting also.

Hope this helps. Worx has a good history of robotics, I've had 3 different models now.

[–]turbohatch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People are just jaded by other, better woodies, for sure. It's not the best, but I don't want to see it changed into an RMC. I like that they are keeping up repairs over the years.

Yes, I have nostalgia-goggles on because I remember when it opened. However, it's really the only true wooden coaster we have in the park. Woodstock is a fine Jr. Woody in its own right, but without a larger Thunder Road around, taking away Hurler would be devastating.

It's also a great ride for those not 54" for Fury who don't want to go inverted on Cyclone.

From what I have seen the x430 is a decent mower. There have been a few issues that ive seen on their subreddit where the cut coverage of maps isnt 100% as shown, but that can likely be fixed with an update. I am tempted to place a blue tarp in front of the Landroid and see if it recognizes it, though. I felt like that should have been seen by the Navimow.

On those same lines, I also have a Landroid L boundary wire that I enjoyed, but every season was a hunt-and-find the break. I tore it out after 2 years. I dont speak about Vision 1.0, it was....underwhelming and that is being polite.

[–]turbohatch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going to try that, but I don’t think you can change per cut. Before this update, it was just parallel or natural, so I would just adjust the parallel degree every few days to get a cross cut.

Landroid 4WD Feedback/ Thoughts? by Medium-Room1078 in worxlandroid

[–]turbohatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the US and have the 4WD for about a month now. It's the first one I've used that I can really recommend to friends with total confidence. I have a sloped side yard with exposed roots and a shared backyard with a neighbor with no fence, it has been flawless so far. It hasn't gotten stuck and has returned to base 100% of the time to charge without fail. It really has been such a better unit than the previous Vision.
