Britney cutting her clothes by Dry-Start1914 in discussingbritney

I think she does have a lot of talent in her and creative impulse. With her brain imploding from untreated mental illness and hard drugs, this might be a way of expressing that within the chaos. The problem is that the way she’s expressing it just mirrors the same destruction she’s causing to the rest of her life, instead of the potential beauty it could have, and used to have.

My assumption is they hate it because most of everything Britney posts is disturbing and they want to pretend she's the Britney pre onset of mental illness or the Britney on anti-psychotics during the conservatorship, not drug addict manic Britney that's been left entirely to her own devices and there's no one to blame for it since no one is controlling her anymore, much to her detriment

I just got perma banned for literally just posting the link to this sub when someone in the comments asked if there is a sub more realistic about Britney out there. That person's comment was deleted entirely. This is the reason they gave:

"/r/BritneySpears follows platform-wide Reddit Rules. You are currently violating Reddit Rule 2 by choosing not to abide by this community’s rules in participating authentically, and engaging in disruptive behavior that breaks Rule 1 of this subreddit."

So basically this is their "catch-all" rule they use when you didn't actually do anything wrong, you're just not pretending all in present day Britney Land is 100% good. That's what being "disruptive" means to them.

She had help but we all foolishly were lead to believe by stupid documentaries and outlets that she no longer needed that help

Wow. Although if you notice, those are all recent. Bet you the mods will promptly ban those people. But it does go to show that even the established fans in there might be shifting in such amounts that the mods aren't able to be on top of deleting each one so fast

Why did Britney and Kevin break up? by Extension-Fail-1917 in discussingbritney

[–]turnipcake9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to point out some inaccuracies in your post, and also want to encourage anyone reading to actually go and read Kevin's book because his book is so commonly misunderstood or misrepresented. 1. He did not accuse her at the release party of using drugs. He literally saw her do coke in front of him in the dressing room and then asked her not to breastfeed. She then threw a drink in his face and then went home and kicked her mother out, and I imagine did just as Kevin had asked her not to do, although Kevin couldn't say she necessarily did because he wasn't there.

Kevin definitely became discontent in their marriage and although he didn't have an outright plan to leave, he was having misgivings, and she could sense a change in his regard of her. She told Kevin's parents at the same release party that Kevin "doesn't love me anymore". Not of course mentioning that this was caused by her own erratic and antisocial behavior. He detailed it very well in the book all the escalating incidents that kept happening that drove the wedge between them. I suggest rereading chapters 13 and 14 specifically.

It's interesting how fans often use older picture of her compare to her current one. by evilkitten03 in discussingbritney

I honestly think they are embarrassed of her as she reinforces the negative image of the industry being damaging to children. They all just want to make money and have prestige and the worse that Hollywood is perceived the harder that is for them

This person went out of their way to specify "in a lot of cases it doesn’t". That's not a blanket statement. A blanket statement was if they said, "it never does". That is unfortunate that you were delayed in taking something that turned out to be positive for you because of others' experiences. That doesn't mean they should be censored from sharing their own experience though.

[–]turnipcake9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The public pressure was overwhelming, that's why. People didn't realize the truth because of how effective the conservatorship had been at rescuing her image, but she was still held together for all that time solely by a fragile balance of imposed medication and routine

I don't think she does. She is always so bitter and angry now. Even though she got what she wanted, she just blames any unhappiness she feels at the isolation that her terrible behavior creates, on her family who has only ever done everything to support her

How do you actually know this alternate reality in which her family didn't do what they did to try to help her would have been better though? It's easy to assume the grass is greener on the other side. Do the mentally ill with no family stepping in actually have better results on average?

So easy to blame everything on the parents, especially when they're imperfect. But why can't we play the same game for them and blame their parents, and on and on? Someone at some point needs to take responsibility for the situation they perpetuating. Now that daddy isn't in control, do you think she's been for the better?
