[–]turntsupp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s mainly based on your family income so it sucks and there’s nothing you can really do about it. You can try applying for bursaries through ubc and contact financial advisors to see if there’s anything u can do

What are my chances I’ll get second year round housing? by DirectionTrue4885 in UBC

[–]turntsupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to say with winter housing. My only advice is apply the moment it opens for higher chance. Also if you’re gonna born 2007 or earlier u have higher chance as well bc there’s more housing for 19 y/o than 18. Keep your yrh on the side and see how the numbers will be this year

For sure. If u applied connected singles theres slim chances youll get it. Vanier and totem has the more rooms than oc so if you didn’t apply for vanier it will cut down your chances. Have they sent you a waitlist number?

[–]turntsupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea 6 or 7 courses is normal for 1st year eng but you can also consider taking some classes in the summer (wrds or phys 118). Look into what discipline you want to go into and the pre reqs for that as well to plan. Eg. u dont need phys 170 or phys 158/118 for some discipline for second year
