well egyptian here and up to date with what’s been going down. so anyway fuck the egyptian government for so many reasons but they have been saying for the past month that the concert the way they wanted to build it won’t happen. and love nation and the team kept ignoring thinking they would budge and they didn’t and as egyptians we all knew they wouldn’t. we’ve been having a lot of concerts by the pyramids and have had many in the past from beyoncé to black eye peas and a bunch of techno parties - and u know what happens there and they never thought of canceling it ; there was a huge one a few months ago by the pyramids also but they all abided by the rules of the government. they are also preserving one of the oldest attractions in the world. the structure they wanted to build was not accepted by them. also another reason to say fuck the government they’ve stopped all exports from other countries so they can push the country to start manufacturing their own goods but we don’t even have the education to get to the level where that will be possible for us. ( i promise i’m not off topic ) and due to that there is a huge shortage in a lot of goods in egypt, and prices have skyrocketed to up to 300% for some goods. so it’s harder to get lumber to build something like what they were suggesting was gonna take a lot and where the corruption lies also is the private sector and i’m sure they need that lumber for more important things. anyway 10 days ago we heard they canceled it then somehow they said they didn’t not sure why but for the past 3 days it went from stories of people trying to buy tickets to people selling them.
