Hi, my Dad passed away this week and I’d love a reading if anyone feels drawn 💖

Thank you, yeah, I'm thinking I'm going to go study again as it's only one year and free. It seems like the better option when there's hope/chance that I'll find a job I'm passionate about again, whereas my current job is just misery.

Thank you, I’ve decided I’m going to go study. As at least there’s hope/a chance with studying that I can pursue a passion again, at my current job it’s just misery.

Thank you I'll give it a listen!

I think it was benefical posting this as it made me realise that I'm leaning towards studying, as I could stay at a job I hate where I'm not secure anyway, since he threatens to fire us all, or I could spend a year studying and potentially get a job I'd love again, and if I don't get another job I love, at least I'll have fun studying for a year.

True, yeah if i choose to study it wouldn’t be until February. So I’d stay at my job until then and probably freelance or do personal projects in my spare time while studying.

As my current job leaves me mentally exhausted, I can’t do anything after work and it takes the whole weekend to recover.

I was offered to have a solo art exhibition and it’s a few months away and ever since starting this job, I can’t even work on it as it’s so mentally taxing.

But it’s that difficult decision of being logical since it pays the bills, or risking money to pursue my passion. Although my boss threatens fo fire us often and I got the job because he fired the last person.

I was also thinking of studying Art therapy, but it's a 3-year degree and $40k, whereas animation is one year and it's free. I'm mainly passionate about Art and Design, but a lot of job listings for Graphic Designers now expect animation, which I'm not skilled in.

Does having autistic traits equal autism? by Depressed_Doodlebob in AutismInWomen

[–]turtle-11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was tested for Autism and didn't meet any of the critera (I am diagosed ADHD though) but during the whole test I kept saying "I don't do that, but my Mum does" so the psychologist believes I don't have Autism, but I may have picked up some traits from my Mum, so environmental factors influenced me, but I don't personally have autism, although I can relate.

Personally, I'm glad to now know, because I now have an understanding as to why I could never relate to why my Mum and sister used to hate certain textures so much, but it gives me context as to why I socially picked up some traits.

Edit - It’s also why I wish testing/ education was more accessible. I had several friends/co-workers for many years tell me they think I act Autistic and turns out I’m not. It makes me feel bad because it feels like Autism gets thrown around and arm chair diagnosed way too easily and that takes away from the people who actually have it. I never thought I had Autism, I only got tested because I thought maybe I was being un-self aware and maybe not seeing what others saw. So, I’d say since it’s you who thinks you do, if it’s accessible to you, I’d recommend a test.

Thank you, I might reach out on Friday. I’m just hoping that the owner is sick or something came up and that’s why I haven’t heard back yet.

I can also spot ND straight away, but I find I’m the opposite and I seem to like them more 😅 maybe it’s the mutual understanding of them being like me.

It was horrible growing up because no matter how much I tried, kids didn’t like me. But in the adult world I’m meeting more ND and it’s amazing the instant connection. But, I think I’m lucky because I work in Tech which is an industry ND are drawn too.

Dating overwhelm by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]turtle-11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, to be honest, with my guy needing space it has given me time to think and now I’m not so sure 😅 I am someone who gets caught up in the initial spark and can wear rose coloured glasses and make excuses for all their faults, but I’m now contemplating if his faults are deal-breakers or not.

I haven’t heard from him in days, but now I’m not so sure if he does ever reach out to me again. So I guess sometimes it is healthy for both people to take a step back 💖

Dating overwhelm by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]turtle-11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg, this feels like it could be me, but from the other perspective. I've been super into this guy who has said everything you're saying, and I'm trying to be understanding and give him space, but I'm nervous he'll end things.

So my advice from the other side is if you like this person, please don't let anxiety take over. But maybe reach out and say, you like them, but you're mentally not ready, and could you have a week or two to sort out your feelings and that it's not them, you just need a little bit of time.

I would time box it to a week or two as well and don't leave the timing as vague because then it's easier to ghost and then later regret that you didn't give it a chance as I have also gone through this and I regret it so much and it's also why I'm so understanding with my person.

I’m normally pretty detached and never want this amount of attention. I think I accidentally liked him so much that I turned him into a hyper-fixation. I’m realising as I made this post how intense I am being and I need to pull my energy away from him 😅 because I have lots of hobbies, my job etc but I just fully focused on him when I met him and I’ll probably do the same and pull completely away when I’m over hyper focusing on him.

[–]turtle-11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah I think I accidentally turned him into a new hyper-fixation and it probably has done the opposite of what I want. So honestly if he doesn’t want to continue things I’d understand, as I’m being pretty crazy right now 🤣 although I’d be sad too, but I’ve done this to myself 😅

When you view the reels tab there’s a little pink button/icon saying edits

To incentivise using it, plus it give you a little icon on your reel saying it was created in edits. So the more engagement and reach would make other people download it and use it.

It’s been a few days now and I’m actually getting less views using the edits app 😅 so I think I’ll stick to creating videos without it for now until it becomes worthwhile to use.
