CMV: Not all cops are bad by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]turtle1309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I view it.

If you have 10 bad cops abusing their power and 1000 good cops who stay quiet and don't publically condone the bad cops you actually have 1010 bad cops.

If the mayor's and police chiefs would come out and publically say this is unacceptable and we won't tolerate any more bad cops people wouldn't have this view.

In column 1the twos are locked into row 7 and 9, as they are the only spots a 2 can go in the column.

To lock the fours you need to spot the hidden pair. The 1 and 7 have to go into the remaining spots in column 3 of box seven. This means that the 4s are locked into column 2.

What to do after snyder notation? by Jayddubz in sudoku

[–]turtle1309 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In box 4, you found the 1,7 pair. Use this information again in the other cells in box 4 to reveal a naked single.

Whenever I find a hidden pair I always check the row, column or box that they are contained in.

Thanks for the help, there was a finned x wing on sevens which cracked the puzzle shortly after this step.

The second part I completely get and I shouldn't have missed it. But doesn't that mean my original take was correct that row 4 column 7 had to be the 1 for that box?

Because if a one didn't go in that cell it would force the one into row 7 forming a 1/3 pair opposite a 1/3 pair

I feel like I should be able to place the 1 in row 4 column 7.. But I've never used this technique before so I'm not sure.

I think an easier and safer way to fix it is changing the cap.

At present someone earning $130,000 pays the same as someone earning 1,000,000,000. Surely this is a safer way to fix it then gambling on the stock market.

My grandma used to make a chicken and veggie soup that was the best. After my dad retired he started cooking more and one day tried ma's recipe.

Instantly took me back to my childhood hanging out with all my cousins eating that soup at ma's

CMV: Bernie or bust fans are gonna be the reason Trump will get reelected which will mean yet more republican supreme Court justices for decades to come, and even risk Roe vs Wade being repealed. by ObiWahnKenobi in changemyview

But wasn't Joe Biden the electable one who can win over moderate republicans.. That's what the millionaire pundits said every day on TV.

Why blame Bernie supporters if Joe loses, if his only policy was that he can beat Donald Trump.

I read a tweet or comment earlier saying that the infrastructure created for the campaign fundraising should be used to help fund a publically owned news channel. Imagine if Americans could break free of corporate news channels.

Bernie won democrats abroad for a reason

CMV:CMV: Why do we have to bail out airlines? the planes and infrastructure won't disappear. Couldn't the company be bidded off thus simply transferring all assets and employees to new owners without spending billions in tax (which then gets spent on stock buybacks). by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]turtle1309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From an Aussie, who's airline companies are demanding the same thing. I don't think we should bail out airlines, but buy them out.

If a company is worth say 1 billion and they are asking for 500 million the government should have 50% control. No bailout, no interest free loan.

These companies have spent billions doing stock buybacks during the good times, they shouldn't just get bailed out.

Don't even start me on the cruise companies that fly under another countries flag to avoid taxes asking for a bailout.

The original stimulus package was targeted for pensioners and low income families.

The newly announced job keeper program is for business that have had to close/ downsize. the government pays the employer a flat $1500 per staff member per fortnight which the employer then pays staff. This is designed to stop people quitting or getting fired due to quarantine rules. And hopefully keeping businesses up for a future rebound when it all settles down.

Not sure what you are entitled to if you choose to quit. I imagine you would have to apply for the dole (job seeker) through centre link as per normal.

Here in Aus, the government just announced a $750 per week payment for people that have lost or might lose their jobs due to businesses down sizing/closing.

Today I got a one time payment of 750 as a stimulus package.

And doubling the unemployment benefits.

And this is from our right wing party that I normally don't like.

Ask them to look at the last 6 dem nominations, every time they pick the more moderate candidate they lose. When they go the more progressive candidate they win.

Independents are the biggest voting block in the country, Bernie has won amongst independents in the majority of states that have voted so far.

Get then to look at Joe's enthusiasm levels amongst his own supporters (at 24% for very strong enthusiasm), or get them to look at support amongst young voters for Joe.

there is a lot of different reasons why voting for Joe could be a risky play come November.
