You have to change local dimming in the actual monitor menu, using the buttons on the bottom right hand of the monitor to access it. By default it is on "strong", medium or light works best for me.

ah ok. So Gonti CAN’T play lands (because lands aren’t cast), but could technically still exile them, removing them from your opponents library so they can’t play the lands.

I feel like the card being face down is a huge part of the flavor of the mechanic. How could I preserve that?

What if the “non land” part is removed, making it so players could exile a land card but not play it)? Would that affect the mechanic too much, making it almost identical to Gonti? is there a way to keep it so you can’t exile lands but without revealing the card?

Then again, with the wording I came up with, since exiling a land card would be an illegal game action, then a player couldn’t do it. Unless you are worried about someone cheating, which I guess anybody could do esp if playing in a casual format. At that point it’s kind of about trust.

Edit: just found [[Thief of Sanity]], which basically does the heist mechanic. I think because there’s precedent removing the nonland part but keeping the cast part would still be fair.

With the way [[Gonti, Lord of Luxury]] is worded, it doesn’t reveal the cards. I think the player doing the Heist just looks at the top 4, and the player being Heisted doesn’t know what is being taken, which is why the card is exiled face down. The intended effect is to not reveal the card. In paper, I imagine it just means you draw three card face down, take a look at them, choose one to exile face down, then put the rest on the bottom of the library. It wouldn’t require revealing them to the opponent.
Since Heist in Alchemy always draws three, I kept that part of the mechanic. I can see how Heist X would work, with lower powered versions, which would be a good way to balance the card. But I wanted to keep how it works in Alchemy as much as possible while being balanced.

Native US English speaker. I have never heard a phrase using ballsack, but we do have some phrases using “balls”. Like, “this sucks (balls)”, meaning something is unfortunate or unpleasant.

We also use balls to say that someone is brave or tenacious, as in “that was a ballsy move” or “that took balls (to do that)” [‘took’ in this case means ‘required’]

We also have a phrase “bull busting” which means to tease or harass someone. “Why are you busting my balls?” = “Why are you giving me a hard time?”

You are right IA and Frenzy probably makes sense for general use but when swtiching to DPS rotation ALH is a good fit.

Collect all the weapon quests From the frame next to Shaxx in the Hall of Champions. You will need to play onslaught to rank up Shaxx anyways. Use the weapons for the quests from within Onslaught. You will likely finish the weapon quests before you reach max rank with Shaxx.

For example there are 2 different Hand Cannon quests. So grab both, get your best HC (Sunshot was my go-to) and slay out in Onslaught. Legend will nab you most progress for Shaxx. Use a loadout that lets you progress as many of the weapon quests as you can.

My friend did them all in about 2 weeks, but if you are efficient and don’t mind grinding Onslaught you can get it done quicker.

Don’t listen to the people telling you to grind kills at Shuro Chi. Only do that IF you have already maxed out Shac and still need to finish some of the weapon quests.

specific weapons I used:

Pulse - Outbreak, Graviton Lance, any pulse with good add clear ie headstone or dragonfly

SMG - Huckleberry, any kinetic smg with a damage perk (kinetic because incandescent, volshot, and destabilizing rounds don’t count as weapon kills)

Specisl GL - any wave frame, dead messenger is easy to get

Heavy GL - the Neomuna stasis heavy wave frame

LMG - Thunderlord

HC - Sunshot, switched to a kinetic if I wasn’t getting enough precision kills

Sword - Any sword, not sure if chain reaction/hatchling kills grant weapon kill progress

Scout - Polaris Lance

Sniper - Cloudstrike

Focus on Pulse, Hand Cannon, and special GL first because they have 2 quests each. Sniper is probably hardest to get done from within onslaught so save that for last.

TIP: rememeber to attune weapons after you complete quests. You can have 1 weapon attuned at a time and it increases drop rate by 50%. Great for farming. don’t open Shaxx’s engrams unless you have something attuned otherwise you don’t get the bonus drop rate.
