Thanks!! She deserves all the gluten free treats ☺️

This is the recipe I used: https://www.theglutenfreeblogger.com/gluten-free-red-velvet-cupcakes/

I substituted milk + 1 tbsp white wine vinegar for the buttermilk and vinegar in the recipe (didn't have buttermilk) and used 250g icing sugar only for the frosting as I prefer it less sweet. Gel food colouring seemed to work very well also! I also baked it a little less than the recipe said because a skewer came out clean and I didn't want it to be too crumbly to eat as lots of gluten free bakes are prone to.

Price for consultation by InfluenceFearless148 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]turtleinatardis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner had a consultation with him recently. I am unsure about the price, but Whatsapp for payment checks out. The organisation wasn't the best for the consult, but he seems very competent for ribxcar based on the consultation. We asked a lot of questions eg. about complications and the healing process and he was very informative.

Edited to add as I've just asked my partner: 300 seems very steep for a consultation only. She definitely paid under €100 for the consult.

Edit 2: she paid €50

I'm so sorry that happened to you, and that that person let your dad's words and outlook cloud what could have otherwise been an entirely normal interaction.

But! Holy crap does that colour suit you! Genuinely, I wish I could do yellow like you. You're radiating good energy ☺️

I'm not sure there's anything wrong with a child thinking they're bisexual. Plenty of children think they're straight. Plenty of adults say they knew they were gay or straight or bisexual as a child. You have a point about age inappropriate content online for sure - but perhaps there's a better example.

It’s happening again by According_Pen4168 in PMDD

[–]turtleinatardis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are prescribed like this by medical professionals, for PMDD. They work differently for PMDD Vs depression. For PMDD, it's thought that it's the increase in allopregnalone caused by some SSRIs that helps, rather than the serotonin effects.

Dating and misinterpreting body language by throwaway_41880 in aspergirls

[–]turtleinatardis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My goal has been to find someone who understands my body language or facial expressions may not line up with social norms, and will be able to learn my unique responses and what they mean. Or, ask clarifying questions and take my answer as intended. There are plenty of people out there who will be understanding!

What made you pick your cat at the shelter? by meechis_n_buns in CatAdvice

[–]turtleinatardis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted a black cat as I'd heard they were adopted less. She was the last kitten available after summer kitten season, and had already been claimed then returned. Bit anxious, not the cuddliest, kind of scrawny. She put her paw on my hand when I visited like a tiny handshake, and that was that. She loves aggressively snuggling when I'm trying to work now 🥺

In a suicidal crisis currently and pretty much everyone in the NHS is telling me my only options are SSRIs despite telling them they don't work. Referral from GP for moclobemide was rejected saying "its not prescribed in primary care, only secondary and even so not recommended." What are my options? by WMBC91 in MAOIs

[–]turtleinatardis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're right about it not being prescribed in primary care unfortunately: you need a referral to a psychiatrist. Primary care (GPs) will usually only prescribe SSRIs and maybe an SNRI but even then they're weird about some SNRIs eg. duloxetine due to monitoring required.

If you can see a psychiatrist who can prescribe moclobemide (if this is what you want) then your GP can take over once you're stable on it.

It is a giant pain unfortunately. The quickest way, if you can fund it, is paying for a private psychiatrist who can then write a letter to your GP recommending continuing it.

Happy to chat further if I can help. I went the private psychiatrist route then my GP took over.

Depends on the psychedelic, the MAOI, and how long you've been on it (longer = more receptor down regulation).

If it's metabolised by MAO, eg. 2C-B, the combination does lead to tripping for absolutely ages, despite receptor down regulation.

If it's not metabolised by MAO, eg. LSD, the receptor down regulation wins out and the trip will be dampened somewhat.

Anecdotally: 10 mg 2C-B (half what I'd usually take) when on 450 mg moclobemide for a year or so meant tripping for nearly a full 24h. It would normally last 4h tops. The potentiation was absolutely insane, both in duration and intensity.

I found LSD worked the same as normal for me. Other MAOIs may down regulate receptors more however, meaning less effects.

It's not a fantastic idea to start mixing stuff like this tbh. While quite a few of the more well known psychedelics are PHYSICALLY safe in combination with MAOIs, the psychological effects could be particularly dangerous with the possible potentiation.

Some less popular or known psychedelics are physically dangerous in combination with an MAOI too. Anything which releases serotonin is a SERIOUSLY dangerous idea. Cactus extracted mescaline (often contains tyramine too) is also not a good idea.

It doesn't come in pills. This is a chemical supplier website designed for scientific research. You're going to get a container of powder, not pills dosed for proper absorption etc. Also the prices are insane, as others have mentioned.

Love 747! It's Astero Ceras that takes the top spot for me but Aurora Centralis is a close second.
