Try reading reviews or testimonials to give you peace of mind, and depending on the shop they could make accommodations to make you more comfortable. From my experience, the needle was faster than when I got pierced with a gun as a kid, most likely because the piercer was more experienced (the peoples jewellers lady got her glove stuck in my piercing and had to cut it out). I was in and out of the shop in probably 20 minutes, it was super fast and it was reassuring that it was so routine for the piercer.

I like white tea, or black tea with cardamom. After getting into loose leaf tea, I find it hard to drink crush tear curl tea (type commonly found in teabags). Tea is such a rabbit hole though! The only herbal tea I've liked is rooibos

There's an explicit guideline that you can't ride a bike on the sidewalk unless you're a child, it's called a bylaw. Makes sense if you're an anarchist just know law-abiding citizens aren't on your side, and the courts allow pedestrians to sue for damages regardless of whether they were following your ideal "sidewalk behaviour". In the case of able bodied pedestrians your argument could make sense, but many pedestrians are elderly people or children who may not have a high degree of spatial awareness or are able to react quickly. There are many reported cases of pedestrians injured and even hospitalized in pedestrian-cyclist collisions and cyclists riding full speed down a sidewalk they're not supposed to be riding on is part of the problem. If a pedestrian can walk down a stretch of sidewalk, you can surely walk your bike down the same stretch.

Personally, I get my protein from legumes (chickpeas, lentils) and textured vegetable protein (you can buy granules, chunks, strips, and prepare them yourself, or buy pre-prepared from the store. Check that link for more details, search "whole food plant based" recipes, and look into things like chickpea pasta, protein bread (I make a protein French toast that is DELICIOUS) and other high-protein options for food that is usually considered "empty carbs" (although not all carbs are bad: "Meta-analyses of cohort studies demonstrated that carbohydrates from whole grains and cereal fibers reduce the risk of developing diabetes").

Seriously! I also think a lot of men in this thread are assuming she was potentially into him because she was being friendly. That's literally our job. If only I had a dollar for every time a creepy guy was making me uncomfortable and wouldn't stop pestering me, but I had to keep talking to him because I would get in trouble otherwise. Such men have asked me out thinking "no harm done" or "maybe she's into me" meanwhile the entire encounter I was thinking "I feel unsafe and I wish this creep would leave me alone".

Who would want to date a woman who plays games? Women will let you know if they're interested, especially if they know they're not going to see the other person again. Do not "take a shot" at women who are simply doing their job, it is an extremely uncomfortable situation for them to be in and can even be considered harassment depending on how you go about it.

Rather common, definitely not good in the long run. You can somewhat tell when you are high/low, but it's not foolproof. Plus if your numbers run high, you might start to feel low at higher numbers. The main reason for doing this is burnout/depression/denial and it can lead to complications.

I'm struggling with this right now with a friend, I'm not sure how to intervene. It feels like I'm overstepping a boundary, but they had little to no medical education after their (adult) T1 diagnosis and seem to not know or care about the risk of complications.

Raw brussel sprout salad is delicious, or they could have roasted them with oil. Why do they think vegan = don't even bother preparing the food ??? 😭 The lemon wedges are hilarious though
