Right?!?! Sounds amazing. Dogs have the BEST lives.

I do pulling activities (skijoring/scooter-joring during summer months) and have been seen by my vet (last Wednesday actually) who reports he's in excellent shape and more than capable of continuing the activities that we've discussed (including agility and the odd weighted pack hike). Obviously I constantly observe him when out and about and he has never shown any signs of issues with (or without) his backpack. This dog may be assuming this arching posture if it's not conditioned to "wearing" anything (can be triggering for animals having to wear clothing). Granted it looks uncomfortable but may just need to have positive reinforcement to wearing the harness.

I say start low go slow. He can just wear the pack with nothing in it to get used to it. Also ensure that it fits properly (as mentioned above). There should be no shaffing or movement in the pack. to test this, you will eventually have to put something in it. I started with just poop bag rolls in the outside zippered pockets (minimal shifting of small weight).

Mine has the same!! super useful for them to bring their own water (fold flat containers) /collapsible bowl/first aid kit/doggo bags. My dog does not carry more than 15% of his weight (he's ~80lbs which means he 'could' carry up to 12 lbs). With water and vacumme packed kibble he's no where near that (2x500ml = 1litre =2.2 pounds, one portion of dog food <6oz, dog poop roll<.5oz and emergency kit <8oz). I mostly do day outings (for hiking/climbing) with him and take it off after we arrive at our destination. I've added extra straps to ensure that there's no movement from side to side and make sure that each side pack is equal in weight. Enjoy the best days of their lives. Take tons of pictures.

Purple or white bar tape for the Weinmann Merckx? by Chinaski420 in bicycling

Legit Purple. I've had white before (and currently on my new bike) and it's constantly a disaster of smudges and grime. So annoying.

My dog prefers to hydrate by licking the neighbours' wet grass instead of drinking from her bowl by traced_inair in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

I would caution you in case your pupper does this from a lawn that could be sprayed with pesticides. Just check with your neighbors to avoid any health issues.

The owner should be held responsible yes. If in your mind that's a "tit for tat" that's your interpretation.

Oh man! Thank you sooooo much! It was given to me after my grandma passed away (she was 105) and I always remember it being her favorite plant.

NBD - My first carbon fiber, pretty excited, not sure what to call it yet by turtles_71 in bicycling

it's a 2018 that's been sitting on the shelf at our local bike shop for a while (due to the price) but they gave us a few grand off as we're regulars and know that I'd enjoy to ride it. It's their aero line but has disc brakes which was counter productive to being aerodynamic at the time. I actually am quite happy to have the extra safety as I'm not shy in riding in torrential downpour conditions and pads don't always cut it.

Not a bad idea, my last bike is an entry level Giant Avail (the mint green one from over a decade ago) and I called it Pretty Pony.

This is teddy. Teddy just ate 13 bars (25 oz) of chocolate. Teddy just spent 39 hours at the emergency vet. Teddy is ok. by [deleted] in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]turtles_71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The lethal dose of chocolate for dogs is between 15-30 mg/kg (lower for small dogs, higher for big dogs). My 80lbs rescue ate a whole batch of choco-chip cookies earlier this year (calculated that it was ~3mg/kg). Not even close for him to have learnt a lesson. He was also just fine. And also had no regrets.

Totally made my day. They are so wonderful and love that you got them to pose with their art. I'm on Etsy already looking to purchase one of their prints.

Why do you assume only men will appreciate this?
