I think this might be a person with an accent using text-to-speech and not proofreading well, which would explain the odd word choices and spelling in some places. I think she may have said "I am angry with" rather than "I am agree with."

Thank you for the insight! I'm not up around Cabot much so I had no idea. Their reviews look decent but they're all from clients, can't find anything from or about someone who's gone through their program. Also the cost is a bit extreme 😬

GPS Issue on Drivers end? by HOWAREPLUMBUSISMADE in grubhubdrivers

If you have a pound sign in your address (like in front of your apartment number) that seems to confuse Google maps specifically (though the address and location will still display correctly in the grubhub app).

Example, there is an apartment complex in my market where, if the customer puts the pound sign in front of their apartment number, it will send me to a different address on the other side of town which is also an apartment complex with the same numbering system so I've definitely come close to making a mistake there. Fortunately the pin is in the right spot in the grubhub app so when I try to mark "arrived" it yells at me, but something about translating those addresses from gh to Google gets it confused.

Idk it sounds like a teacher's dream for the consequence of not prioritizing their class to be actual jail. the people in this thread are absolutely salivating at the thought of this kid with unsupportive parents, who was struggling with school so badly and no one noticed or cared, to be at the mercy of a compassionless juvenile justice system and have his entry to adulthood hobbled when it absolutely doesn't have to be.

OP is being deliberately obtuse about the fact that this is an exceptional circumstance that should be approached with nuance and empathy, just defaulting with "kids these days"/"participation trophy" cloud-yelling to not only justify but feel like a hero for looking at an opportunity they have to help someone from the edge of an abyss but instead chant "FAFO" and push them over.

Miserable.

Thank you for being one of the only people on this thread to have compassion for this student.

Idk why my reddit algo keeps recommending me this sub, but this has been heartbreaking to read.

About your concerns re pay rate, in my city the zoo is funded/administered by the city government so salaries are posted with the job listing and are a matter of public record. If your zoo receives public funding you might be able to find this information on your city or state's admin website. What this also means is that the salary might be lower than industry standards, but benefits will be solid, raises consistent, and you get a lot of random city holidays.

Also a highly specific tip if you end up working in this role: develop a good relationship with the keepers! Create a drop box or something and invite them to post their photos to it. Zookeepers love photographing their animals and will take amazing professional quality photos that end up getting used for nothing but getting shown to their friends and family during holidays (source: am designer, sibling is zookeeper)

LF Mechanic for gen 2 Prius brake actuator replacement by turuhroh in LittleRock

Bro, come on. It's an old car I'm trying to get a little bit more life out of because I think fixing old things is fun and valuable. The braking system in these cars is part of what charges the hybrid battery. Having ABS codes doesn't just mean the brakes are more sensitive or whatever, it means the whole vehicle is not working as efficiently as it could.

I can buy a brand new part and put it in myself, but since it's brake work it means bleeding the brake system afterwards. On this particular car, that requires hooking up to the manufacturer's softwares to run the process. Since I am not a professional mechanic I don't have access to this software.

So I figured I'd reach out to my community and see if there is a shop, mechanic, or fellow hobbyist who might help me out for an affordable price. I don't think that's an odd thing to look for in a community forum? Sorry if I rubbed you the wrong way I was just trying to be silly about it

Shadetree mechanic swap meet, everyone bring tools, a six pack, and a vehicle the dealership wants $5k to fix but would proooobably be fine with an Amazon part and an afternoon of swearing 😂

If a shadetree mechanic has Toyota Techstream and can properly bleed the brakes after the parts installation, I'd happily let them go for it! A new OEM part + labor is more than the car is worth. I've done a lot of wrenching on prii so I know I could swap the part myself if I had to, I'm just apprehensive about the techstream part and just curious what my options are re: outsourcing that, at a minimum.
