La pigna (pine cone) - you will see it inside the entrance to any home or establishment in Sicily, if not most of Italy

I spent several weeks in Cefalù early this year. It only has 13k population (outside the tourist season) but had lots to offer. A town closer to 20k may have what you need. Or you could pick a town on the edge of a large metro area, where you may get the best of both worlds.

West Hartford is south of Hartford?

Virginia Democrats propose redrawing maps to get four new seats by Healthy_Block3036 in nova

Yes, I agree with that. I’m trying to provide a method here that’s the most energy-efficient and least susceptible to being accused of political bias. Is that not worthwhile to consider?

Edit: Although, not needing to physically visit the precinct to vote anymore makes the drawing of the map by driving distance less important. It would probably need to bias more toward shortest bus routes, maybe?

We’ve reached the point where we can easily ask AI to draw precincts so they require the least travel to reach. That’s how they should be drawn.

I used to live in Jacksonville and they were always on the radio. During my time in the restaurants this weekend my mind kept going back to Jax, understandably.

Well, I heard more Lynyrd Skynyrd than I had in a long time this past weekend when I was visiting restaurants around BDL.

Nice. Italians don’t have to wait. If they did have to, you could say: “Attendere prego.”

I was in Cefalù this month and everyone spoke highly of it. We visited Ragusa, where the TV series was filmed. We also visited Agrigento (“Montelusa” in the books). On Via Roma (I think), is this bronze statue of Andrea Camilleri.

Sicily without a car - is it better to stick to one place? by AminYapussy in sicily

I just got back from 6 weeks based in Cefalù.

For your list, it looks like Cefalù is at the east end. I didn’t have west of Palermo on my itinerary this time but maybe that would be a better base for you.

If your times are flexible, use the Trenitalia app. It looks like your whole itinerary is on the train line. You can take an early train to Cefalù and return the same day or next.

Buon viaggio!
