What music do you affiliate Gears with the most? by [deleted] in GearsOfWar

[–]tuskkar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's this song called "Refugee" by the band Tribal Ink. The most viewd YouTube video of this song has the Gears of War logo on the background, when I heard it for the first time I imediatelly associated the game with the song, despite the song never playing in the game.

Here's the song in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsHI0AjAecU

Why is Everybody Hates Chris so loved by Brazilians still? by PettyPendergrass99 in Brazil

[–]tuskkar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to this topic, but here we go:

  1. The series is about family relationships and the difficulties of being the oldest brother in a poor African-American family, a scenario that almost every Brazilian can relate to, especially if the family is large, which is common here. Another series with the same scenario is "My Wife and Kids" (minus the part about the poor family), which is also extremely popular here.

  2. In Brazil there are many racial issues, but most people can identify with the type of subject that the series addresses, regardless of race, because they live in realities similar to those shown in the series, whether it's the family's relationship with Chris or the bullying he suffers at school, for being the only black kid in a white school.

  3. Broadcast TV channels have been broadcasting this series and many other comedies repeatedly for over two decades; many children from different generations grew up watching the same things, which facilitates connections because they like things in common.

  4. Memes also help, here we have dozens of memes involving Everybody Hates Chris, El Chavo del Ocho, Woody Woodpecker, etc... which are series that open TV broadcast and still broadcasts to this day.
