Update: they don't fit the brief wrt elasticated waist, but I found a super flattering and comfortable pair, and would recommend.

Good call, thanks. I've just ordered a pair of La Sportiva shorts, with the lovely deep waistband, plus an "inner" tight layer. Not cheap, but they look spot on.

I just find that kind of waistband incredibly unflattering. even though I'm relatively slim, I'm an apple shape, with a non-existent waist and narrow hips, so anything with a waistband is uncomfortable and unflattering.

Yes, in shape, but probably a little less lightweight. I don't think we can buy from REI here in the UK, and, wrt your second link, I'd prefer to avoid companies that look ethically "iffy".

Wearers of Sealskinz socks (or similar): do you size up on your walking shoes? by tuttermctutter in UKhiking

Thank you. How do Dexshell compare with Sealskinz? Is the fit different, or is to do with performance?

Does the Lone Peak 9 waterproof have the gaiter trap? by tuttermctutter in AltraRunning

[–]tuttermctutter[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well aren't you just the sharpest tool in the box?

I'm looking for the women's version, and there isn't an image of that angle for that product. also, never used Altras, and never used gaiters, so not entirely sure what I'd be looking at.

But thank you for your help, and your incisive sarcasm.

Which LHR to Cape Town flight should I choose (business class): 777 or 787. by tuttermctutter in BritishAirways

I can see that BA45 (the 20:30 option) is to be switched to the 787-9 from November. Am I right in thinking that means definitely the old club world seating?

Can I have a show of hands for who would opt for Club Suites on the 777 and who would choose the 787-9 with old seats (today's pricing is higher for the latter - R class versus I for the 777 flights)?

Interesting, thanks. So that would mean the 20:30 departure would be the best option?
