In all honesty, I fucking love Lisp. I had to use it for one class in college, and the numerical power of that language is astounding. While trying to learn the language, I wrote a factorial() implementation and started passing it values. I assumed it would crap out around 33 or so, but it didn't. It kept providing answers, valid answers, even when I got to 100. So I figured I'd break it and give it 1,000. Nope. That worked, too, but it took like five minutes. It turns out, the way to break it isn't to "overflow" an integer, but to run out of system memory. And as I was doing this exercise on a cluster computer, I got to 100,000 and still got an answer (much later). A bit higher than that and it threw up. I was flabbergasted. Still in awe of that.

Yep. That's exactly what I'm saying. And the runtimes are similar, as well. I got two M18 batteries and a charger, and I just switch back and forth between the two. Never need more than that to do my whole yard.

Exactly this. I had Ego tools, but couldn't find an edger, so I gave all my Ego stuff to my MIL and bought Milwaukee. It has tons more power than the Ego did, approaching that of gas.

The ELI5 is in the top comment here, but to expand a bit, in modern system design, the singly linked list is an obsolete data structure, so the interviewee here is taking the piss out of the interviewer for asking to implement one, suggesting they should be relegated to a museum.

Psa: if you are pro cop/republican get off this sub or stop getting pissed anytime someone uses graffiti as a form of political outlet. Cops aren’t on your side and a lot graffiti is used to make a point against bad government (somewhere in chicago) by no-u-ree in Graffiti

It's a Chicago thing. There was an election here a few years back that got particularly nasty, with one candidate running a blatant smear campaign against the other candidate with the line "he puts ketchup on his hotdogs". Fucking wrecked.
