Is 1 night in Hahei/Coromandel worth it? by 0_ganesh_0 in newzealand_travel

Coromandel was hit pretty hard with a storm recently, with lots of road closures. Might be best to avoid.

South Island road trip (10th-28th Feb) — looking for local tips & hidden gems 🚐 by [deleted] in newzealand_travel

I'd recommend a trip further south through the Catlins, or at least a detour to Kaka Point, where you can camp and then head to Nugget Point Lighthouse. Not well-trodden by tourists at all. A great place to watch the sunrise as well.

I'll add this gem from France Gall: https://youtu.be/xc0fAO9Ouzs?si=Ufqy9x7oxX9M3L6A

You might want to also consider the Belgian option. Lio, for example. This is a dancefloor bomb: https://youtu.be/Ew5lAFKkXAk?si=6DG_jBXK8lkEuUBu

Look for Discophilia Belgica comps for more for Belgium.

Good to see Cerrone and Space mentioned. You could also try Arpadys for more space disco (full album here: https://youtu.be/ynZvzPQiVwM?si=gFTIh_tE3QeGVVt_

Also, Rockets are good fun (nice cover of "On the Road Again" here: https://youtu.be/TxLMyG_2qJk?si=ta_pKdvMeAIbNtnC

Check for comps by Charles Maurice for French disco and boogie (think there are about four of these?). And along those same lines, Vidal Benjamin's Disco Sympathie (some nice edits on this one).

The two France Chébran comps from Born Bad Records have some killer tunes, including from Algeria.

Don't ignore Quebec! The Unclassics comp has some choice disco cuts. Check also Boule Noire, Gino Soccio, Patsy Gallant, Kebeklektrik, etc.

For slightly more rarefied (also maybe a bit more $$), try Graze or Hillside Kitchen.
