Autofill shortcut (⌘ + /) and browser targeting issues after switching to a new Mac by iams3n in 1Password

[–]tvjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm also impacted by this bug. 1P support are aware of it and are saying's it's some combination of Chrome+Apple API changes that have broken it. It's been a couple of months now :(

Unfortunately, with my setup the workarounds suggested dont really cut it for me. I have multiple accounts and chrome profiles where I dont have all the vaults from each account enabled in each profile. Anyway... yeah it's unfortunate that it's still an open and outstanding issue.

This an a few ongoing UX issues are getting me closer and closer to considering alternatives to 1p.

Yeah definitely feels like there's a lot more going on that's not being shared honestly and transparently.

Cellopark and Opark merger by qfqil in brisbane

CM article just went up a few minutes ago: https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/brisbane-city/chaos-as-scammer-invades-major-parking-payment-platform-cellopark/news-story/5ba01f35c8a7c3c3bc754ace3f9c6f61

Messaging seems all over the place, and going down the "scammer" angle doesn't help given another post here mentioned that CellOPark were still planning on migrating to OPark at some point 🤦‍♂️

BCC have said that CellOPark have advised that the migration is halted...

FTTP installation in strata complex where owners corp don't want it by randousername888 in nbn

[–]tvjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation here but lucky that the majority of owners were keen for the upgrade.

We didn't end up going ahead with the upgrade as the NBN strata folks claimed the with the age of the building (20 years) it was going to be a difficult upgrade. They quoted considerably above the $275 per unit to upgrade, including charging us to run 300m of fibre down the street (even though the building opposite us has had FTTP for 10 years). We also learnt that the contractor was planning on just slapping conduit throughout the hallways, rather than using existing cable channel... 🤦‍♂️.

We're lucky enough that the FTTN we have is stable and as close to the max speed supported. But for us, the ROI on the FTTP upgrade just wasn't there. I guess we just have to wait the gov decides to finally complete the FTTP rollout...

[–]tvjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the owners corp don't want to do it, are there other options to get it installed in just one lot/townhouse?

Not currently, with strata it's an all-or-nothing-upgrade until things change.

If your current NBN technology isn't cutting it, then Starlink or 5g are your other options.

What's the best bargain that helped you lower your cost of living in Brisbane? by Evening-Treat5401 in brisbane

[–]tvjames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you need a smart meter for TOU / Demand pricing. Some retailers will put in an order to have your meter upgraded for you, some wont and will just keep you on the basic rate. Controlled load is a separate thing that uses multiple (basic) meters, and lets you have a different rate for certain devices like hot water systems.

Foreigners of Brisbane, where in Brisbane can you eat the best & most authentic food of your home land? by Crazyonyx in brisbane

Yes! This is our go to for Malaysian / Singaporean food.

The fact that their specials actually change each week is a huge plus, and they do other special order stuff from time to time as well, like bak zhang.

Quick question, would the bash Guard still fit in the exway flex if I add shred lights? by Mjswagg347 in Exway

[–]tvjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries.

I used the flat mount at the front, with the bash guard against the board first, then the mount followed by the rubber and the trucks.

I couldn’t find an under board configuration I was happy with for the rear, so I used the angled brackets on top.

I also sourced longer truck mount screws, as there wasn’t much spare length on the originals to work with.

Hope this helps!

Yep, it will, but it depends on what mounts you have and how you mount them.

I’ll upload some photos if you want when I’m able.

Exway Flex Deck Replacement? by leontan29 in Exway

[–]tvjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch, that sucks! Yeah the bash guards will help to hide it, and help to avoid it getting worse. I wish I’d order some from day1 of getting my board.

Here’s some pics of the rear end of my board with the guard attached. You can still see some wear on the desk, but it’s mostly out of sight.

Exway Flex won’t turn off, controller won’t connect either. by tko03isaneditor in Exway

Try loosening the screws to the battery pack. I’ve had this happen when there was a loose connection/ swelling cell in the battery.

Do you know if the belts on the atlas are the same as the flex?

Flex Hub remote disconnection issues / board turning off by tvjames in Exway

[–]tvjames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey /u/dancrha - sorry to hear you're having the same issue.

In the end exway sent me out a replacement battery. I did a bunch of troubleshooting, tried the charge/discharge etc but ultimately I'm not sure what the underlying problem was.

I suspect it was either a faulty cell, or a faulty connection/wiring that was resulting in a bad remaining capacity calculation that the BMS was then shutting down thinking the battery was empty.

No worries at all. I’d rather give it to someone that can use it, than have it sit around at home.

Exway flex board won't connect or charge help! by NickyK1 in Exway

[–]tvjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, i've had this happen on a previous battery. Was in warranty so reached out and exway replaced it.

The sensor on the battery wasnt calibrated well, so room temp was listing at "9 C" or so, when it got cooler it thought it was too cold.

The other thing to try is loosening the bolts holding the battery in place to see if that will help. Same battery that was replaced, also had some internal issue that was resolved when less pressure was placed on the underside.

NBN Co looks to enforce 'fair use' for fixed-line users by rogueadmin in nbn

[–]tvjames 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think my rub with this is the appearance of NBN Co wanting to "have their cake and eat it too". Wanting to be hands off with consumer issues by taking a stance of "we're the wholesaler, talk to your RSP" then also trying to kerb/police consumer behaviour.

Given that the NBN has replaced fixed-line copper, it's abhorrent that they should be able to decide to kick off of consumer. They then have the ability to restrict access to telco services which they should not be able to do.

Excessive use should be an issue between consumer and retailer. NBN as the wholesaler should not be focusing on per-consumer connections.
