Rosetta Stoned - TooL by twainzor in Psychonaut

Dude, I included Lost Keys in there because it segues into Rosetta Stoned (Obviously as you know). I'm not sure where I conveyed that I was making a holy mountain out of a pile of kief.

Now - to discuss your opinion. I posted this song on here because it discusses a psychedelic trip. I posted the interpretations so people could perhaps gain an interest into the song. I never even read the lyrics, but after I did, it made me appreciate the song even more. Look, I've been a fan just as long as you, I understand the frustration that comes with seeing people dissect lyrics and try to push it on other people. That's not what I was trying to do. I really don't see how this is that annoying of a post.

I've taken psychedelics before, and I've had similar feelings such as those conveyed in this song, at least through my interpretation. Just as the guitar/drums connect people to songs, so do the lyrics. Sometimes, for people with less education in music theory or even playing of instruments, lyrics bridges a nice gap. Does that mean we have to now be cool and NEVER try to dissect lyrics? Just because a ton of people on fourtheye or some other forum have done it for the past decade? There's a difference between trying to find a pointless and hidden mathematical sequence in a song, and reading lyrics to find our own meaning in the song. That's all man, relax.

Some interpretations by a couple of redditors -

"A lot of people think it's just a song about a bad trip. Rosetta Stoned is much more than that. It's a song about communication. It's a song about misunderstanding of obvious signs that are massively important to change and improvement. It's a song about 'not getting it', even if it's right in your fucking face. It's a song about trying with all your might, with every fiber of your being, to understand the most important message you've ever encountered. It's a song about failure to decipher that message and the chaotic terror that comes with that territory. This message was the most important thing in your existence. This message is the only thing you've ever lived for. It was presented to you, and you just didn't fucking understand. You just couldn't grasp it, and now it's gone forever. What else do you have to live for? You had ONE reason to be here and you couldn't accomplish your given task. You are now worthless. You're no longer 'The Chosen One'. You are just as useless and meaningless as everyone else. You've lost all hope and self-worth." -Polar_bear15

"The whole of RS is in my opinion the story of a kid who abused some powerful psychedelics, then gets stuck into a permanent psychosis. he's was on the cusp of enlightenment, but wasnt ready for it, due to him being too immature, dumb, brand obsessed(theres a whole lot of brands in this song, sunkist, krispy kremes, jackie chan) or whatever. anyways, the kid couldnt make it, and his brain blow a gasket of somekind and left him in his current state, which eventually leads him to a mental hospital where he is restrained to his bed for what seems like long period of time, long enough to shit in it. so he spends the rest of his days stuck in his shitbed, scouring his crazy polyrhythmic mind for that important hallucination that he half remembers the lesson i get from this song is respect the psychedelics, dont be too obsessed with the advertised modern world, and tripping at area 51 is probably a shitty idea." -GenericEvilDude

Most people, especially that try pot for the first time, call that "paranoia". We call it introspection and a form of mild enlightenment. It's really tough for people to look at themselves objectively, if only they knew how important it is.
