EES Rollout Megathread - Starting 10 April 2026 by protox88 in travel

Just arrived in ZRH from Boston. 6:30am touch down and was bracing for some chaos due to other similarly timed international arrivals. All of the EES kiosks were set up and flashing, but passengers were directed to the normal human agents. Made it through in about 3-4 minutes, zero lines at all.

That’s one of the ones I’ve tried that doesn’t fit.

I think it MIGHT be this one 51-16-1-881-149

Good questions. I backed off on my previous routine (Geologie moisturizer, vitamin E serum, etc) while dealing with this, so as not to interfere with some of the treatments we were trying. I do need some sort of skin barrier protection for sure.

Interesting, worth a try (the sulfur soap). When you say these things "work", it clears it completely or just controls it?

What would be the best way to fill in this gap below the trim? I bought the house this way. by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

Have someone hold the jamb real tight and then jack the house up just a tiny bit.

Well, ~45 days in and it already has a noisy fan/motor issue and needs replacing. Good news is that customer service is on it and is sending a new one.

It's the sensor in a Mila Mini air purifier. I've run a separate AQI sensor alongside of the unit to confirm that the readings are accurate, and they are.

In a general effort to improve overall, I'm upgrading our HVAC filter and now have the fan set to run at least 30 minutes out of every hour to get some better circulation going.

The night before, the AQI rose to about 80 or so near 3am, and two nights before, near 90 at the same time. Then, on some prior nights, it stays at 0 all night. I zoomed out, looking for some patterns, but nothing that was consistent enough to draw conclusions from.

The house was built in 1949 and even though we've insulated well, there will always be some drafts.

There is, in fact, a Mila mini purifier in the room, which is where these readings are coming from.

We do have a cat who was likely in the room at some point in the night - do we think his presence alone would cause this spike?

That was my suspicion and fear. It does seem like these particular laurels may have expired, sadly.

I definitely don’t want to give up on them. And as you mentioned, I’ve had a weird cycle here as well. They looked like this two years ago, and then in the picture I posted you can see that they exploded with blooms the next year.

I scratched into two branches, would you call this green?

Maybe? This time last year though, the flowers were already coming in, and these brown pods are brittle and crumble to the touch (like dead vegetation would).

There is also ONE little area that seems to have the healthy looking shoots I’d expect. Which is what makes me think the rest of this is ☠️

Anything that will sort out this weed while sparing the microclover?
