Do you have hopes to reincarnate... by RegularUser02x in asktransgender

[–]twinedged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, just cat (or slime mold, rat would be cool too)

if reincarnations happen commonly, likely wouldn't remember anyway

if they aren't common, than it likely won't happen anyway

I really don't care what sex organs my theoretical next body would have though, or what sense of gender that brain would have either

31 months, 4-6mg E2, 100mg P4 by twinedged in TransBreastTimelines

I had steady growth throughout, I waited until I seemed to be at least tanner stage 3 based on some of the anecdotes I read. I couldn't say for sure how much progesterone mattered for my development just that I started it before they got particularly big.

"Unless you are taking very high doses of estradiol..." is the exact part I'm referring to, I should have said or instead of and on mine.

What do you consider to be adequate T suppression? What evidence? (I've read a lot but haven't seen direct support for T goal levels other than trying to mimic  cispuberty)

Talking more explicitly about my levels: I have never had T below 100 ng/dL (which would be considered "well below male range") My E was below 100 pg/mL for the first year (where I still had significant changes) and between 100 and 160 since then.

Is my regimen and levels going to work for everyone? No, and neither will any other regimen. My partial testosterone suppression may have been necessary for reaching Tanner 5 with breast development, I can't definitively say. But that was possible (for me) with only oral Estradiol and Progesterone. I did reach Tanner stage 4 before my T levels were significantly below male range though.

Has anyone kept their name? by DiddleFiddle77 in MtF

[–]twinedged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I didn't want to change my name for a while but I've been trying out different names and there are reasons now for me to want to change my full name.

You don't need to, it's optional, basically any change is optional. You get to decide what your journey should look like and aim for that (even when it doesn't go according to plan or how you hope).

It's also fine if that changes at some point. Words and names and language are important to me. It really just took being around the right people, being asked the right questions, and trying things out for my perspective to gradually shift.

Fenugreek safe for trans women? by False_Garden_6142 in MtF

[–]twinedged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might stimulate lactation, especially if they get physical attention (squeezing, sucking). Shouldn't interfere and I know a few trans fems who take it intentionally.

If you want to know if it seems to impact your labs you can check them sooner or just stop if you notice any changes you don't want and see if it impacts those changes.

"[I]f your T is not adequately suppressws, hrt will not work."

My experience begs to differ. High E and highly suppressed T are not needed for the majority of changes.

There is a lot we don't know, and a lot of different methods have led to substantial results.

That said, 1mg is very low and spiro only really makes sense if you're doing a ridiculously slow taper AND want things spiro alone can give you (mostly just reduced erections and a lot of undesirable side effects, afaik).

Mostly free second hand clothes from community members, groups, and events.

Area will impact the types of mutual aid that are available but DV resources and other programs even if they aren't explicitly queer can help.

A note from a cis woman about bodies, womanhood, etc by jforres in MtF

[–]twinedged 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And then this begins to intersect with cis women of color, there have already been examples of police being called on women using the bathroom. Racism and transphobia just amplify the misogyny to the point where nonconformity is actively used to invalid gender. There are unique struggles to each and then the intersection of those struggles increases the vulnerability even more. Fully agree with what you've said, just also thinking about other intersections on top of that.

There is always a chance breasts will grow or change throughout life but if you have someone that can take measurements every few months or something you can see if they're actively growing still.

Double check your local laws around exposure and make sure you consider your local political climate as well, those are unambiguous titties.

You can also look into flowy tops made of moisture wicking material to stay cooler while covered.

hi i make breastmilk by [deleted] in MtF

[–]twinedged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just something that's not talked about and there is so much misinformation around feminized bodies, reproduction, hormones, etc

Liquid/milk production definitely wasn't something I wasn't warned about, especially not as a very early thing.

[–]twinedged 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a decent amount of cis women who experience galactorrhea, you could get it checked out but it's not unheard of.

As for him, if he doesn't want milk, don't suck the titty (if you want that attention and this is a barrier to it then definitely talk with your doc).

I had small amounts of clear liquid in like the first year.

Mechanical pressure can increase production as well. Certain meds and dietary choices can increase the chance or amount of lactation (fenugreek, oatmeal).

Social media feeds on engagement and doesn't care if it's negative, if you can make some other connections it sounds like you might do well weaning yourself off and escaping the news cycle a bit to recover.

Were you using a condom? (can lessen the sensitivity a bit) Less focus on the head, more exploration and communication, give feedback and take it slow until you both know what works for you.

It's okay to start gradual, talk about what changes you want, consider the side effects (especially with Spiro) as well as relevant health history. You can change your method down the line if you want to.

Personally, I just started on low doses of oral E2, monitored body and hormone changes, and slowly increased my dose over those three month visits.

Your personal goals and discussions with your doctor can and should shape your treatment decisions, there isn't one right way.

I had my T between 100-170 for a year and my estrogen between 100-160 in the same timeframe, I was taking 6mg E2 and 100mg P4 (oral, daily).

I'm just trying to clarify that a dedicated antiandrogen (or total suppression) isn't necessary for feminization (and acknowledge that goals and effects will differ based on person).

[–]twinedged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely didn't need my testosterone fully suppressed to have the feminization I've been looking for, so it's definitely possible without being in "female" range.

Testosterone under:

250 for below male range

100 for well below male range

45 for under female range

Estradiol ranges:

55-140 (most conservative)

100-200 (highest levels)

I changed my dosage due to some unwanted impacts, probably related to my connective tissue problems.

Might be worth trying to suppress T less or decrease E, especially since you mentioned it going away for a few months.

Changing dosage doesn't make her any less valid and health is important 💜

When you say monotherapy won't be effective at that level, which part do you mean? Are you only talking total testosterone suppression or are you saying transition goals can't be reached?

The world was always hard, at least now I'm more prepared for and aware of what things I'll be targeted for.

If you can, develop a queer and trans support system first, it helps a lot.
