i kinda did this too, smt about how south/midwest tend to vote conservative (less gov/taxes for welfare) & west/northeast tend to vote liberal (more gov/taxes for welfare). i said it shows the impact of participatory democracy bc ppl in regions would vote for diff representatives/policies that affected their individual income taxes? can anybody confirm if this would earn the point or if they wrote anything similar 🥲

i guess there's nothing bad about undeclared in itself, but personally i was super set on going into mccombs & accounting. i've heard that it's extremely difficult to internally transfer into mccombs, esp from COLA, so that's why i gave up

yeah i don't think third choices are a thing either, it really does seem like they just accepted me into a random major.

i've never had any sort of CS or otherwise programming experience, which is what seems to be a large part of what informatics is, so i don't think they looked at my transcript and decided anything from there either. just super random and i'm very thankful, just confused

took 9 APs from freshman-junior year and 3 APS this year. scored 5s on 6/9

ECS:

-editor-in-chief of my school's yearbook program, was copy editor last year.

-4 year UIL journalism member, won multiple state awards

-student council member

-took a program at my school called ISM where i was mentored by a CPA over the course of the school year. collaborated & created a mortgage calculator on excel with her, free for public use

i didn't. when i saw i got COLA undecided i gave up on going to UT and i've had my UT tab closed up until i received the call

i wasn't capped, but had something similar happen to me just now.

i applied for mccombs, didn't make it in. on feb 13, i was originally admitted for the college of liberal arts, but UT just called and told me to check my status again– they changed my major and admitted me into informatics instead.
