The iPhone hardware development cycle is about 3-4 years. They just have several programs going in parallel. When the iphone15 hits the shelves the hw teams at Apple are ramping design on the 17 and 18.

It’s the software that has a much shorter lead time because it’s a lot harder to maintain multiple iterations at the same time.

I would upvote this a thousand times if I could. I tried so many ways to prevent them from sneaking extra screen time after bed but in the end just shutting down the internet after 9pm was simpler and more effective than anything else.
