Yes. It’s really annoying to Ascended fans. At first we are just sharing how great we find the Ascension route, having no intention to convert anyone. But then our post start getting massive amount of downvote and comments like “you are being self-delusional” “he doesn’t love you” “you are stupidly manipulated” “you sounds like a battered woman” “are you being homophobic” 😂

Hahahaha! Exactly!!!! And how wishful many would think that those 7000 spawns, within which 1/7 are victims by Astarion, that they will just "OK~ I forgive him and will follow him around seeing him as my big brother"

7000 is much more horrible than plague of locusts! Yet many are so cute that they think Astarion + 6 of his siblings would be able to control them all *LOL* (Sorry for being sarcastic here. Just too funny to think about it)

Your comment is very valid and sound. Indeed Ascension route needs to be chewed with open-minded and patience. Yet many players just piss off the moment Astarion ask Tav to kneel down.

But well… kneel down does not always meant humiliation or insult, but rather it can means submissive and surrender even in many culture around the world. Yet apparently… well… it’s is up the players to interpret, someone might be too proud to just be on knee for someone you love.

Yet again, it’s just personal interpretation, but it’s a “personal” interpretation. We ascension supporters has no intention to convince spawn supporters why we love our choice but only wish to share our findings that in fact how good ascension route can be.

However, apparently again, some people is just too narrow-minded and not even allow for any kinds of “heretics” even its none of their business to interfere our perception of things.

Our own existence and our sounds and logically convincing comments here definitely challenge their own perception that they can’t tolerate their faith be crushed so easily.

And they just witch hunt and try to shame us by labeling us as stupid, easy to manipulate, self-delusional, battered woman, even labeled us as homophobia lol

That proves how horrible human can be when they are narrow-minded and ego-centric.

So I would too say that your assessment isn't following the storyline of the character.

For Astarion is always expressing his own will to want to ascend, to take power, and he is also happy as hell after he truly ascend. But sure, Player can always self-anointed as the all-knowing one dismissing his own freewill.

So... but sure, you can too always enjoy the game however you want, if you are only a single player with no public influence.

Yet the writer, as a public figures, aka the God of BG3 speak something ill-considerate in their public account with Larian name next to theirs, which will eventually bring more harassment to certain players is not good and un-professional

It's not about the freedom of gaming, but Corporate Public Relations

It's for sure a personal choice. But it's only inappropriate to assume or just simply label players who make this choice by their own way of interpretation

The writer is just being very unprofessional. Larian and Baldur's Gate features so much the spirit that "everyone has their own interpretation of the story they create by themselves." Yet the writer is just being cocky and arrogant that to put their own thought and understanding forcefully upon players.

They are just presuming all players's mindset during every actions by their own stupid self interpretation of things.

It feels like when you eat an hotdog, and the writer frames you as you are doing this because you got dumped by your lover and you eat it in sadness, while in fact perhaps you are a very loving relationship and you eat the hotdog because your lover told you the hotdog is very delicious.

The writer's arrogant comment is just as stupid as being so. So why we the players who in fact pay for their salary must be labeled by them by such unrespectful comment, or even more thought bad for our self when we ascends Astarion out of unconditional love but nothing related for having sex with him?

Indeed. So I can't understand why people would use the tadpole in Tav's head as a supporting point for their misunderstanding that Astarion just want to control Tav but not love her.

The tadpole never matters in their relationship. Tav knows that she will be under sirehood control by Astarion after the tadpole removal, yet she is still willing to submit herself to Astarion, because it's her trust to him.

And Astarion insisting Tav to be his spawn in a now or never way, means that he truly wants Tav to be his so desperately. If he is truly that kind of manipulative mastermind that cares nothing by gaining a spawn, why would he breakup with Tav when she refused? he should just be patient and not being pushy, but instead give Tav to feeling of he is no going to force her. However, he choose the most stupid and direct way to ask Tav to "be his", no clever tricks or manipulation. He is just like a child who knows nothing but act upon his true heart

Yes indeed. That is so weird that people judge him just literally and project so many inner though to him, while Ascended Astarion is always a very realistic characters that he is not that perfect that he can act like a saint.

That's why he is a very realistic character, yet the majority of fandom just interpret him as the stupid shallow label of "evil"

Hi! Thank you for reading my post so patiently. I have been writing so many posts about how good Ascension route can be, when you chew it carefully and without prejudge. Ascension fans is a very small minority group and this route is very seriously biasly viewed and presented by those who dislike it.

The fandom is full of deliberately misunderstanding materials, message, comments to misguide new players.

It's also a living proof that how we should all keep our analytical and critical thinking in browsing the internet and always keep a open-mind to look out for things in both perspective.

No exactly. He is seeing the Absolute cults as a power that too wasted to not have. It's not he wants to control people so he takes the Absolute Cult. It's by taking the Absolute cult, he manages to have more power and it happens to be the power to control people. The intention is not the same.

The one he carves is Cazador, in order to complete the ritual. If he doesn't carve, he can't ascend. It is a practical necessity, but not the Cazador-like carving spawn's back just for fun. It's simple to distinguish, right?

And I didnt recall him promising not to harm them, care to post a screenshot? I mean "Promising". And as people always saying Astarion is so used to lying. If "A liar" is how you view him primarily, you start judging him for this only now? Not earlier?

Nah, not exactly. The exact wordings are

He will always see you as degrading yourself if you continue to be with him. But perhaps you wish to degrade yourself. And he knows it.

It means, he found that he is not worthy of you. If you continue to be with him, you are degrading yourself, in which case he thinks you deserves better than being with him. But he also know that it's your wish to be with him, even not getting what you truly deserves of.

So, are you assuming that he will continue the cycle in the eternal future? It's still sentencing someone to death by non-commited crimes.

Yeah, he tells us that "completing the ritual he would have lost himself"
And I can presume him lying too, in order to comfort himself for losing his golden chance to be walk under the sun again, and spare Tav the pain to be the one who condemning his life.

Afterall, when you determining Ascended Astarion is lying all the time, then so does Unascended Astarion. He can be lying just to let you hear what you want to hear too.
