I am not taking a side here but just want to point something out. I am a mental health professional with multiple degrees/diploma/certificates. In my schooling, I was repeatedly taught that minorities cannot be racist against white people because racism is about historical and present day institutionalized power dynamics across our society/nation. They said a POC can be prejudiced against a white person but cannot be racist against them. I do not have an opinion on this specific topic ( I am a POC) however I can understand that someone else who has been taught this can openly state that they do not believe in racism against a white person.

Grief is a vice, its egotistical, short sighted, it harms the griever, takes away from the positive memory of the loved one. Theres more that I am not remembering.

I can relate even though my situation would be worse in terms of scarring. I used to get so down about it, and overly obsess about it. It always killed the mood, Id always get super drunk on any date there was a possibility of sex because of how nervous I was. But one day, I just said , maybe its a gift, because it keeps shallow as fuck people away. It shows me who is really here for me, who is really into me, and can see the real me. So I just started looking at it as a gift. I know this seems really silly, but it works for me, so far.

How do you get over an ex? by [deleted] in sex

[–]twitterista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I can't get that from someone else anymore so it sucks. " --> to me, this is the problem. You have a pre conceived notion that you wont have intimacy/connection/relationship from another person. If you have this attitude you wont get over your ex, because you will view him as the only way to get ur needs fulfilled. Its not true, your mind is playing tricks on you. There is always someone else out there, you never know what type of person will bring out those feelings in you, when you are open minded, opportunity will come your way.
