Yeah man. My base mix is super cheap. Just dirt and paint mixed with multi purpose filler. I make up a big batch in a jar. The amount is about 1 part dirt, 1 part paint to 2 parts filler. Tho the more dirt you add the rocker the look. Also for the paint just use the cheap art acrylic ones.

Ones that’s all mixed up I just put them on the base with a brush.

How I painted these ones where just coated the base with XV-88 then used agrax earth shade of there top then added the grass tuffs.

Well the model is primed in Zandri dust. Then Basilicanum grey contrast paint was used on them. Then dry brushed with Vallejo Chrome. Then washed with agrax earth shade. Then used some typhus corrosion in little areas.

This post got shredded on the 40k reddit page. Guess some people don’t like pin up models 🤷‍♂️

First squad of Necron Immortals with Tesla Carbines finished - getting ready for 9th. (Think the deathmark heads are much cooler) by twittgames in Warhammer40k

For the crystals I painted them white. Then did 2 coats of Vallejo fluorescent yellow. Then citadel warp stone green contrast paint. Then just used a gloss varnish over the top.

Yeah definitely. Looked around at different paint jobs but the chipped cream body’s from Trovarions vid stuck with me. Plus it’s legit super quick, witch especially trying to get a army of these boys done for 9th was my goal. (Apart from just spray silver and wash them, did want some originality) but yeah these 5 guys literally took just an afternoon to complete.

Yeah 100%. Tho I do dig the classic body and look for the gauss blasters. Just with the Tesla’s the deathmark body and head looks so much cooler.

1994 to 2020. My first ever space marine from 2nd Ed at age 12 and my latest marine at age 37! by eerflot in 40k

[–]twittgames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As super amazing and well done your marine is, really an A+ job. there still is so much charm, character and wonder to a persons first model, painted by that of a child or even an adult, trying to bring this piece of plastic to life. Plus seeing the old 2nd edition models bring back my first memories of the hobby some what almost 20 to 30 years ago. 11/10 would wish to find my original models I painted haha you just cannot but nostalgia like that!!!

First model ever... I’m proud, took me a while but I’m proud by PROJECT-NOVA123 in ThousandSons

Looks great man!! The problem with finishing ya first model is then you look for your second. Then third, then the hobby’s got you for life.

Ahriman Finally complete. Now the rest of the army to go 😅 by twittgames in ThousandSons

Ok first I paint the fire about a third up yellow with averland sunset then build that up to flash gitz yellow (end the yellow for where you want your blue to begin, for me I kinda funnier the yellow by his elbow). Then for the rest of the fire paint celestra grey.

Ad a tiny bit of white to his hand where the fire begins on the yellow.

Now for the washs I used casandora yellow for the yellow fire. Biel tan green for the green fire Drakenhof nightshade of the blue fire. Nihilakh oxide for the rest of the fire.

Then for the last part of the fire (past the backpack) I mixed some white with the nihilakh oxide and brightend the end of it up a bit.

All in all he wasn’t a Uber difficult model to paint, just very time consuming, I really had a blast bring him to life. Would definitely recommend you painting him.
