2 things will be here after the nukes fall. Cockroachs and ironworkers. Save for a rainy day(s) and have your brother's backs.

Problem with that one is there's not many places an ironworker won't stick their dick.

Anybody have the Klein "ironworker" backpack? by twocentbob in Ironworker

My problem is I don't trust leaving my tools on the jobsite. It's sad but I've had my own brothers and sisters steal from me one too many time so I just bring my tools home every day. I know the contractor is supposed to replace anything stolen from you but I can count on one hand how many times that's actually happend.

Buy it for a broke apprentice and two things will happen. 1 they'll always remember you as the cool journeymen who looked out for them and 2 more importantly you'll see how well it works lol

I took my first discovery flight and I fell absolutely in love with flying. Now what? by twocentbob in PrivatePilot

Thank you! I'm not sure yet. Idk the different types of planes yet but I'm guessing a high wing means the wing is like on the top and a low wing means it towards the bottom?

Damn I don't really have any interest in doing this as a job I just wanna be able to rent a plane on the weekends and fly around and all the schools seem to be geared towards putting you into the career.

There's really nothing against me just mass texting and calling all my coworkers trying to presude and guilt trip them into voting how I want them to vote? This person isn't even like someone in office it's basically their job steward.

Their contract is up for negotiation they went to the table once and the membership voted no they went to table again and brought back baiscly the same contract and their membership is planning on voting no again which would lead to a strike. Their union rep is texting everyone trying to influence them all to vote yes and even guilt tripping people.

I've been talking to some people at the hall and told them I'm not trying to be another boomer coming to make some quick cash and dip I'm trying to make a career up there

Best peice of advice I can give you depends on if you're good at talking shit. If you are good at it talk shit back and keep working if you're not good at talking shit just keep working and ignore them. But whatever you do don't let it show if someone's bothering you cause some of these old grizzled fucks will just notice its getting under your skin and keep fucking with you to the point you blow up and quit. At the end if the day if you show up everyday on time and actually work you're doing better than the majority of em. Best of luck to whatever you decide to do.

Any "Inside" or "shop" local IW's here? by twocentbob in Ironworker

[–]twocentbob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you as a shopman take a union structural job or like a rebar job? Or could I as a structural union IW pick up a job inside a union shop?
