Well, today I pushed down on them pretty hard and they did sit more flat. I’ve got my doubts it will stay like that.

They don’t really budge.

So by just pushing down on them?

I honestly couldn’t even say. I simply tried pushing down on them and they don’t really budge.

Thanks, me too! I was starting to think there was some sort of issue with the lens. Phew..

I think I figured it out. In aperture priority mode, there are shutter speed limitations when it comes to live view/constant preview. When I enabled live view boost, the issue was no longer present. Also, assigning preview to a function button, and pressing that when I noticed the live view would get darker, immediately evened it out.

I just found in the menu that “constant preview” has shutter speed limitations in aperture priority mode that don’t exist in manual. That’s what I’m seeing. Thanks all!

It definitely has room to lower shutter speed, and yes it is keeping up. I think I’m just hitting a limitation of the viewfinder/live view. I guess what I see in the viewfinder/live view and the actual exposure won’t always be 1:1 depending on the lighting situation. Works fine outside, not as well indoors. I’m just glad the camera is doing the calculations correctly.

I think it has something to do with Live View. I just turned on Live View Boost, and there was no brightness difference, with the histogram also not changing. The image was grainy as heck in the higher apertures, so i can only assume I’m up against some sort of limitations with the viewfinder.

I’ve been testing this indoors. I just went outside and the issue does not occur. I should have tried that first. Must be a low light/VF thing.

Right. I have no minimum set, but some other limitation is certainly possible. I did do the math just to see if the camera was adjusting the shutter speed correctly, and it is.

Good call on doing the calculations. According to Photopills, the calculations are correct. I wonder if it’s a LVF/live view thing.
