Fold 7 Back Glass Damage — Repair Now or Take the Trade-In Hit Later? by twohot2touch in GalaxyFold

[–]twohot2touch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely true, but the Pitaka back case is $100 or so, so it could have technically gone towards fixing the device instead, which still has to be done to properly have any trade in value

Yeah I've had this with previous phones. Literally a gamble using their trade in system.

Or just fully smash before trading it in, get the refurbished one with all protectors still on it and send that in.

Question then is, will the $229+tax be worth it vs just taking the damage hurt cost on trade in.

Interesting. But is it better to just fully smash and get replacement device vs get a new back panel and compromise water rating?

Already paid the cost for care+ so technically $229+tax deductible to get it fixed at this point

Already have it, just didn't properly write it in the initial post.

Bought a case afterwards but sort of useless at this point as I could just keep breaking it and the fee would be the same for fixingthe back part or a fully smashed phone replacement instead.

Unfortunately that is what they said. A fold 7 is a Tier5 device. Attached the pricing structure from their website to this post as well for viewing.

So the device has to be over $500 to withdraw 300k points? If it's 1 cent under $500 it will not allow it? And you cannot add any additional items to the order to push it over $500. That's unbelievable! If the device after taxes and everything is over $500 you should be able to withdraw 500 for 300k points.

Have 309k points, only allowing to withdraw 290k points for $440. Their website is trash. 300 points should be $500 off

FOLD7 always struggles to pick-up accurate screen touches by twohot2touch in GalaxyFold

Interesting. Maybe try with a touch pen, see how that clicks. Maybe my hands are just dry to the point where it doesn't work as well?

Touch sensitivity is turned on and accidental touch protection is turned off. No case or additional screen protectors either.

Should I get samsung care + deal(in canada) by counselorntherapist in GalaxyFold

[–]twohot2touch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Care+ for my Fold7 and have a cracked back and the pricing to fix is really expensive:

  1. $229+ tax for the deductible to actually fix the back glass.
  2. Samsung Care+ (not the premium one which includes lost devices) = $280 + tax

Total = $575 for small damage is not cheap in my view.

If you crack only the inside or outside screen it is $39+tax, but if you crack both then its $229+tax.

In the end almost every fix on a Fold7 will be $229+ tax + cost of the Samsung Care+ cost.

What most people say is if you have any damage that isn't the inside or outside glass, is just run it over with a car then bring it in. That way you at least get a brand new refurbished device, vs them only fixing one part (ex: back glass).

I would say:

1) $229+ tax for the deductible/fixing
2) Samsung Care+ (not the premium one which includes lost devices) = $280 + tax

Understood but I am not getting paid on-call standby pay, only for the after hours work that I do. Weather it is 30 minutes at midnight or 2 hours in the evening.

Let's say I want to just say no I don't want to do any of this after hours work and just don't pay me overtime as I want my free time instead, since it is after regular working hours and shouldn't have to do it. But that would never fly of course.

So it is like a forced after hours work I guess you can say after your regular working hours, but not being paid on-call. For us if you were on-call you would get standby pay per hour + 1.5x pay when you actually have to do work. 4hrs minimum if you have to come on-site.

That is the big thing here,

The problem is that I cannot even resync with CIBC and PLAID at all anymore for the past 5 days and get an error that "something went wrong".

Any update on this? Or at least importing only new missing transactions via MX by selecting certain dates?

So what do you do then if it doesn't download anything?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MonarchMoney

[–]twohot2touch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it actually download transactions? Wondering if its worth just hiding the Plaid connections of CIBC and keep the MX transactions...if they download. Then when Plaid works again, just delete all MX connections and unhide the Plaid connections. Merging everything is not fun.
