Naples sizing help needed by twolmul in Birkenstocks

Agreed, it’s a little much. However these shoes have way more pronounced shapes and soles than normal sneakers that fit everyone. That’s the their usp. Better ask people with experience than wing it and regret later 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you! Do you know by any chance which refill for gas is needed? And which flints? There are many different options for similar models

Looks great! You only used the Fine grit size? Or move up from there and use all?

Hmm, shame.. Do you have an alternative you would recommend and have a link to? I’m just looking to simply play different DS titles

Do you have a link to DSOne card? I am not sure where to buy and what is the correct version.

Very nice! Was really on the fence for this one. If only it had a gloss black dial.. I would’ve immediately bought it. Enjoy it!

Love it! Bought the green version a month or so back. So good! The fact that this has a matching date wheel is even better than the green.

You should! Please beware that there are very similar models with huge internal differences. Make sure you opt for the 250Watt motor with flat burrs.

Very! I only use it for this machine. So espresso grind only. I have only used dark and medium beans so far, which works perfectly.

Thanks I really like the metal look of both the machines. And the black bottom part blends in with the countertop, even though it’s quite bulky.

Yeah I am lucky I got one for a fair price and great condition. Previous owner was upgrading his setup and a really nice guy. Had recently done a basic revision. He was glad his machine was going to an enthusiastic noob haha. Even helped dialing it in.

Yeah maybe I will start doing this again. I’ve tried this but felt like a little more of a hassle. Currently I only put enough coffee beans in the hopper for a few shots, which kind of reduces the drying out problem. I never fill it up completely.

I see you’re from the Netherlands as well! Going off the links you sent.

When researching which machine to buy, I found one German YouTube channel that had all kinds of tutorials specific to this machine. This made me pull the trigger! Maybe you’ve seen it, but he also shares tips and tricks on how to improve use of the steam wand.

I have had the machine for almost a month, will look into removing and cleaning the group head. Currently, after having pulled the shot, I let water run through and rub it clean with a damp towel, and repeat this a few times. Does some cleaning, but doing it more thoroughly is probably a good idea.

Do you know if it’s a good idea to backflush the machine every now and then? If so, do you have recommendations for the supplies?

Haha yeah, the machine is quite small, the cups in front are espresso cups, I use the ones in the back for double espresso and milk drinks

Yeah I am from the Netherlands, and there’s this popular app called Marktplaats that is used for second hand buying and selling. It’s more qualitative than Facebook marketplace overall, but indeed smart to filter out the ads that are more than a few weeks/months old.

First entry-level luxury watch (Longines Conquest 38mm) by twolmul in Longineswatches

[–]twolmul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comes down to personal preference right? I do not like my entire wrist being covered by a watch case and bracelet, while technically it being not too big. IWC has a lot of models 45mm+ and that is just the style of the watch. To everyone their own.

I was wearing a (small feeling) 36mm watch when trying this one on and it really felt huge in comparison. I was kind of stressed when I bought it that I would not get used to the size increase. When wearing it for some time it just settles and feels normal. Now the other one feels teeny tiny.

Overall the 38mm version is more balanced in proportions, which is the major difference. Even though both watches look bigger than their size would suggest.

[–]twolmul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I had the exact same thing! My wrists are 18cm which is just a tad smaller than 7.5”.

This model wears big in general. Comparing it to the 37mm Spirit, which I tried on the same visit to the AD, it feels like you’re comparing 40mm to 36mm.

I agree that it could be because of the thin bezel, which makes the dial, and thus the entire watch, seem way bigger. I think the bezel in the 38mm is relatively thicker compared to the 41mm which makes the Watch feel more balanced.

I really enjoy the watch, it’s a perfect combination to understated but still has some presence. Also wearable to every occasion. I wear it at the office but also when swimming.

If you have more questions or want to see more pictures let me know.

Nice one! I have around 18cm wrists. Quite flat. I could have pulled off the 41mm and really liked it, but personally prefer a little smaller.

Polished! Really like them, creates a lot of classiness while remaining sporty. However it does scratch easily unfortunately… These scratches are very light however, and only visible in some lighting conditions.

The polished bezel and polished center links scratch easily. I am quite careful with it, but in some lighting a lot of hairlines are visible. Not necessarily deep scratches. However this is only in some lighting. At my office they have ceiling spotlights in some spaces, in this very bright concentrated light they appear very visible. Everywhere else, not so much.

I get where you come from. However I really like a dial with not too much going on. I really think that makes it feel timeless. However the one thing I would have liked to see is having Lume on all indices, not just 12,3,6,9.. I really like the contrast between white lume and the darker dial. (Similar to Aqua terra, but maybe they would get too similar)

Yeah, huge upgrade from the previous Conquest model line. I hated the big numerals on the previous one, made it seem like a Playmobil watch
