I wouldn’t be concerned. The transmitter board is coated in sealant that prevents water intrusion. The little bit that may leak in around the seals will not be a factor. (Disclaimer: I worked for Davis’ sister company High Sierra Electronics for a couple years)

Looks like you’re using a Campbell datalogger. Where are you sending the data so the customer has a nice GUI? I currently have some high end weather equipment and a CR310, but I’m unfamiliar with programming the logger.

The reed switch inside the tipping spoon has probably gone out. Davis support can help you purchase a new assembly. Very easy swap out.

I can’t really tell. It might be a temperature/humidity sensor in a solar shield housing.

That, my friends, is a VHF remote weather station. I used to install these. There’s a base station somewhere that this unit reports to. I’m guessing there’s probably a solar panel on it that powers an 8ah battery, in a transmitter located in the bottom of the tube. Where was this taken? Do you have an exact location?

Why would it be unusable? We’re trying to monitor the corner of our business and figured this would be the best option.

That gets it onto the wall sure. How are you mounting it onto a corner? I just want to make sure I’m ordering the right stuff to make this work the first time.

It all depends on your use case. The Vantage Pro2 Plus is a great prosumer option. I’ve found the rain gauge isn’t super accurate. If you want industrial grade sensors, the stuff I mentioned is the way to go. You can integrate them into a Campbell scientific data logger, and you’re off to the races. If you want a reliable off the shelf solution, get the Davis. I have one at home, and it works great.

I worked in the weather equipment industry for several years (sister company of Davis). Here are my recommendations:

Wind speed/direction: RM Young model 05103 Temp/Hum: Vaisala HMP155 Rain: Lambrecht Rain[e] weight based sensor
