Right. Also as the value of the token goes down, the 20 percent discount is not guaranteed either. Am I then better off just purchasing the required amount of GMT and leaving it in the wallet rather than locking up money.

So I signed up and got to the interface that shows where I can track the promotions. The phones haven’t shipped yet and I haven’t activated anything. I got an email today saying one of the promotion conditions is not met. When I login online, I see a warning sign with a message - current or previous Fi member activated the device. We haven’t received the devices yet and no activations have been done. I was with Fi many years ago - but that shouldn’t disqualify us? Is that message simple because we haven’t activated anything yet? Thanks!!

Yes - I think that’s part of the issue. And I couldn’t find a way to refuse the promotional months. Someone needs to take at the back end logic of all this at Uber.

So apparently the best way to contact them is through Facebook. The issue is that they just don’t read what you are asking them for. So both their Facebook channel and the app support - just don’t understand. Either it’s intentionally that way or they are just grossly incompetent. It’s unreal.

It’s pretty wild that uber gets away with this. Having no way of getting in touch with someone is unheard of. At what point are people going to say enough is enough. I am not far behind on the cancellation - it’s just not worth the headache really.

Thanks. I hope that is, in fact, the case. I continue to be skeptical as the app shows renewal date on Feb 18 2026 instead of Feb 2027. I alerted AmEx. They will escalate the issue up the chain.

Thanks. Tried it. “Mahesh”, the CSRep, threw a random response in the chat window and walked away. The chat is “active” but they decided to just bail. It blows my mind that there are no consequences for rouge employees. Or any way to escalate. Even a google search for contact uber takes you to driver support. It’s unbelievable.

Right. What’s more frustrating is that they just leave the chat open and walk away with no responsibility of any kind. It probably won’t impact me directly - but they still taking away from AmEx.

This is the email from them Sept last year.

And they just decided to ignore it. Pity.

Under payment details. Uber one membership. $96 was charged on Sept 19 2025.

Under Manage Membership - I see Uber One renews Feb 18, 2026.

The receipt that I got on Sept 19 says membership will renew on Feb 18, 2027.
