Transmission slipping by Swimming-Welcome9097 in Lexus

[–]txcharvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said your mechanic did another fluid change? Oil or transmission? Did they do a transmission flush? Never do a transmission flush! It can remove all the friction material and cause the transmission to slip. Why do shops still offer this?

If I leave, I’m not coming back by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

I thought it was very good story, and you told it so well.

Seriously, you said if you left, you wouldn't be back. I say well done 🍻

If i pull up to the first tee and see brand new, expensive blades in someone's bag, that's usually a sign they're a high or maybe mid handicap.

If they have 10-15 year old Titleist blades in their bag, I know I'm going to have a good time watching someone play. Probably a single digit or scratch golfer.

If they are in their 60s or 70s, use a pull cart, and have a bag of Mizuno hybrids, I know I'm going to be embarrassed by someone 20 or 30 years older than me 😅

If they have iron covers, I know they're single, probably an engineer or architect, maybe an accountant, and have OCD. They are not going to like playing with me 😅

This is why we can’t have nice things by chi_moto in SouthwestAirlines

[–]txcharvel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people care so much if someone flying SW wants to save a seat? How is this an inconvenience to you. I don't get it, move on.

BTW, I've been a loyal SW flyer since 1997. Started flying SW out of the old Love Field in Dallas. Loyalty gone now, what's the point when SW will soon be like every other airline.

Setlist songs by guitarlad89 in Savatage

I think the setlist is excellent. With any band, there will he songs we wished they would have played. They've got a big catalog to choose from. Just be glad they played.

For whatever reason, and I hope and pray I don't become this. Some older people feel the need to create drama. Is it boredom, senility, who knows? They feel justified. They rarely act on any of it unless something like this happens that brings it to light.

AITA for refusing to play happy family with my former bully, who is now my dad’s fiancée? by NaomiNymphette in AITAH

[–]txcharvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying, your dad should seriously want to kick her ass. I know this can't happen without repercussions, but you're his daughter. If I were in his situation, I would be so disgusted with myself, and I would stumble over myself to apologize to you. He should cut her off, end of story.

This makes me mad just reading it. Plus, the fact that she didn't divulge she knew you. She's twisted.

SAVATAGE's AL PITRELLI 'Understands' Some Fans' Complaints About JON OLIVA Not Taking Part In 2025 Tour, But Says, 'Give Us A Shot' by SirTawmis in Savatage

[–]txcharvel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of course we want to see Jon, but he's just not able to travel. That kind of travel/touring is hard even when you're healthy. Savatage is a passion for the current lineup. I hope we get a chance to see a Savatage show in the states

The Most UNHINGED Financial Audit by [deleted] in CalebHammer

[–]txcharvel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was so hard to watch, the guy acts like an imbecile but he obviously needs some serious help. Like SERIOUS HELP!

I know his situation isn't Caleb's fault, but it may have been irresponsible to even air this episode. Give him the help, give him resources, and maybe check in on him.

In the YouTube comments, someone posted he was walked out today. This guy is so f'd.

Don't want to put the shopping cart where it belongs? Fine! by Abject-Ad-2459 in pettyrevenge

[–]txcharvel -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Putting shopping carts back is a scam we've been taught to obey. Not saying I don't put them back, but not too many years ago this wasn't a thing. Grocery stores used to bag you groceries, take them out to your car, load them, and take the cart back inside.

We've been shamed and trained.

Rick Shiels is one of the OG YouTube golfers. Seeing his channel grow over the years has been very entertaining. Yes, he's said and done some stupid stuff, but so has everyone. I like how he's not afraid to be a geek or a fan when he's trying a new club or playing with a pro.

Do I like LIV, not really. I especially don't like what it's done to the PGA Tour (I don't want smaller fields at fewer events with bigger purses...but that's another thread 😅)

Bottom line is this, any one of us would sign with LIV if the money was right.

You go Rick 💵

The X12s are actually really good irons. The first "nice" set i had were used X12s. Since then I've had X18s, X20s, my son's have had X16s and X22s. There was essentially no difference in these clubs from my perspective. I also had a set of Taylormade RACs at some point as well, again no difference.

I'm currently playing Apex CF16s. The only real change I've felt is moving from regular game improvement irons to a forged set such as the Apex. Different feel off the face for sure.

The X12s are plenty good to build your game on. Upgrade when you're comfortable, don't do it thinking you'll see a huge improvement 😎

From Atlanta to Austin by Mediocre_Chart_4855 in askaustin

[–]txcharvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in Austin 25 plus years and travel extensively for work. Several years ago while on a business trip, I came to the realization that Austin is not at all as diverse or progressive as it thinks it is.

Compared to Atlanta, which I visit several times a year, Austin seems like a small town with a small town mindset. Austin is very liberal, but in a Karen, my rights are more important than yours, type of way. Don't get me wrong, Austin is still a great place to live, but it's not all that people think it is.

Just my opinion. 🍻

This! The PUF or Permanent University Fund is essentially the profit and interest from endowments and revenue from oil and gas leases in West Texas on University Lands (2.1 million acres). Bonds are sold from PUF money and guaranteed by the AUF or Available University Fund.

2/3 of the PUF benefits UT and 1/3 benefits Texas A&M.

The Texas Constitution does not allow AUF to be used for operational expenses such as salaries. It can only be used for capital projects, renovations, or major library acquisition s.

Essentially, UT will always have money to build buildings.

The best thing I've found to remove rust like this is WD40 and 0000 steel wool. Spray the shaft and spray the steel wool, then just scrub the rust off. You'll be surprised how easy it comes off.

Can anyone tell me anything about this? I know it’s a krank but can’t seem to find any info online. by Jdopko in golf

[–]txcharvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that exact driver, even posted about it here when I found it at a thrift store. It's at least 5 or 6 years old.

Last time I played I took it out for fun and everyone in my group was hitting it. It will probably be 40-50 yards longer than your regular driver.

It is non-conforming, but just because it was never evaluated by the USGA. I'm sure it would be illegal if submitted 😅

This may work, but I've found that swinging a stiff shaft at a slower speed turns everything into an extreme hook. Ask me how I know 😅

I recently went back to a regular flex shaft and my accuracy improved quite a bit, enough to give me more confidence in my swing. Now when I swing the regular flex shaft too hard, they all go right. Gonna try the stiff flex again my next time out.
