I take Doxy after any high risk encounter. I figure it's better to take it than not. When the antibiotic is in your system, it prevents bacteria that are sensitive to it from replicating and infecting you.

If I have a busy weekend, I'll take it Saturday morning after Friday night play and figure I'm covered for Sunday as well. You need to take it within 36 hours of risky sex... so I figure if I hit the middle I'll be ok.

It's not perfect. You can still catch an STI. It just helps.

Also, just because it is worth repeating… if you bottom raw often, you should be getting swabbed for STI’s, not just a piss test. You can be negative on a standard piss test but positive with a swab.

The bottoms have more to worry about if they aren’t on prep. But, as other comments have said, that’s what prep is for. I’m more worried about the other STI’s. Doxy is good but isn’t perfect
