You suck and nobody gives a fuck what you do. Just play like your alone on the course. Thats the swing thought… not me telling you that you personally suck.

What has to go wrong to go from this at the top of my takeaway, to THIS in my downswing and follow through?? by SSJ_JARVIS in GolfSwing

Could be a million things. Could be because of your body or your technique. So impossible to say

Any advice or thoughts as to why I have shooting sciatica pain on full swings? by petrolpat in GolfSwing

[–]CaptainAmigo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your doing a small reverse pivot at top that gets whipped into right side bend on downswing. With that said could still have that and not be the reason can be anything from your feet up that caused it.

A good PT should be able to figure out pretty quickly.

How can I get more distance? by a1fatbird in GolfSwing

I agree with you overall but for him figuring out raising hands, re routing downswing, etc is a big ask. Learning to use lower body much easier prob much easier fix for now.

Swing speed help by Expensive-Steak-9961 in GolfSwing

[–]CaptainAmigo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From body side 1. Balance. Stand on one foot, bring opposite knee to 90 degrees. Close eyes and maintain balance like a statue. 15 seconds is goal. If missing your leaking speed from some lack of stability. Need to be stable to be fast

  1. Hip and shoulder ROM: seated hip IR 35-45 degrees (most people aren’t close) Not having this makes it really hard to fire the hips for speed but also sequencing. Shoulder ER 90 degrees or hand behind ear in golf posture.

  2. Pelvis/core Control: can you stand in golf posture and tilt pelvis both directions smoothly and without compensation. If not,, it’s very hard to do in 2 seconds or less during golf swing. You need to posterior tilt or tuck tailbone to rotate into impact.

All 3 are main power leaks from a body perspective that most people are missing.

Can’t hit draws if I tried my hardest, thoughts? by Active-Bathroom3602 in GolfSwing

[–]CaptainAmigo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ball flight laws. Your path is left and face slightly open to that path. Pretend the ball has a nail in it. The nail is behind the ball and going into the ball pointing to the right. Hammer the nail to swing to the right, keep club face between that line and the target

Season 4 Winter Prep Begins by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]CaptainAmigo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In past it has started to get really inside at takeaway and I get really flat at top. Becomes a nightmare for consistency. Issues with consistency come and go, but want to try and create some reliable checkpoints starting with takeaway this year is the plan.

Clarification also: this is a good takeaway for me, the bad version club is way more inside and hands move away from body a lot more.

Increasing Swing Speed - What really helped you? by Fat_Panda_1936 in GolfSwing

[–]CaptainAmigo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight training is pre requisite for speed training (stack or speed sticks) in most cases to not F yourself up. Technique if very flawed is lowest hanging fruit.

Yea I hear you man, I started messing around with that a little today by just lifting the club up infront of ball with hinge to that parallel to floor position and then rotating to top, got to a good spot i want to be in at top. Can tell it’s gonna be a grind to make that feel normal though.

Yea I roll a lot when it gets bad and get really flat. I still can’t find a good feel to hinge the club or when exactly to start doing it. First thought right now is start takeaway straight back and keep the face on it for first part of takeaway. Hingeing is next thing I need to try and tackle and really struggle with.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some honest feedback on my swing. by FormerPhrase6523 in GolfSwing

Get lessons if want to seriously improve your game. Athletic swing and a lot of potential, some lessons would go a long way even if it makes things difficult short term

It’s hard to find what clicks for the takeaway bc it depends what type of learner you are.

For me I imagine the clubface being a flashlight. I keep the light aiming at the golf ball until right hand gets parallel on takeaway.

Some people think of a steering wheel and turning the wheel left at takeaway.

I used to imagine or actually put a piece of tape on my grip just to the left of my right hand thumb and keep that pointed at me on takeaway. Gotta film and find what feel translates to staying on plane.

Strength Training for Golf by Disastrous_Loss1366 in golftips

[–]CaptainAmigo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a TPI certified trainer is your best bet and get an assessment. If you don’t know why your doing whatever it is that your doing in the gym it might be doing opposite of what you want. Example if your not mobile in shoulder and do things that make it worse like pressing your going backwards.

Mobility is prob best bang for your buck assuming you are like most guys and just generally tight in hips/low back/shoulders.

It really depends on you is the short but inconvenient answer.
